and began keep them in the SeaWorld. Although, dolphin in the wild and SeaWorld are same animal
there are different and similarities in their physical characteristics, reproduction, life style and life
condition.

It’s impossible to separate them in the visual aspect. Dolphins in the wild have similar
physical characteristics with the dolphin in the SeaWorld. Both have smooth, rubbery skin and are
usually colored in some mixture of black, white, and gray. Also, they have two flippers, or fins, on
their sides, as well as a triangular fin on the back. In addition, they start to breed after five to eight
years old. Their gestation period is 9-17 months depending on the species. When it is time to give
birth, the female will distance herself from the pod, often going near the surface of the water. This

female bears a single offspring which called calf. Moreover, their behavior doesn’t change. Wherever

In some situation life in SeaWorld is beneficial for dolphin. Because people feed and protect

Furthermore, as dolphin is social animals, they get stress from living alone and staying away from the

community. So their lifespan is shorter to compare with wild dolphin. In contrast with the SeaWorld
dolphin, wild dolphin has freer lifestyle. They spend most of their time chasing and hunting prey or

playing with their friends. Even though, there is environmental pollution and human threat in the wild

sea, wild dolphin spend better and longer lifestyle in the sea.

For dolphin to adopt the condition of SeaWorld, they try to provide similar and appropriate

environmental condition for dolphin. They support squids, fishes and some other sea foods for
dolphin. Moreover, SeaWorld make similar water temperature and pressure with wild dolphin. This
allows dolphin to adopt to its new environment better. However, a narrow aquarium causes stress for
the sensitive dolphin. Dolphins use sound waves to recognize and communicate objects, which can
lead to confusion at the aquarium because their sound comes back when it hits a concrete wall just
meters ahead. The Head of Animal Freedom Alliance, said, “It is like screaming alone in a secluded
room.” According to the 2006 report released by researchers at Sacramento University in the U.S., the
music in the aquarium, the noise of visitors, and the noise of ventilation and water purification
facilities all caused stress on dolphins.

Nowadays, many people is visiting SeaWorld to see different show of dolphin. The life style
and condition of dolphin in wild and SeaWorld is definitely different. That’s why, lots of people are
still against dolphin captivity. This can ruin life of dolphin. Although, humans are daily caring
dolphin, as they are wild animal in the over billion cubic kilometer, world’s biggest tank is still to tiny
for dolphin. Animal of department should implement new rules to protect dolphin.
