Leave SOP – Part Time CTs

Objective

The objective of the Leave SOP is to ensure uniform process and make the leave management smooth
and transparent.

Scope
This process is applicable to all ​Part Time​ Class teachers of Vedantu Innovations Pvt. Ltd.

Date of Commencement
The process comes in effect from ​2nd Feb’2021.

Process
● Respective BU TL/AM’s are expected to review the ​Approval and ​Rejection of leave request
received on a regular basis.
● All part time CTs are entitled to​ only 1 Paid/Earned leave​ throughout the month.
● More than 1 leave would automatically be considered as Loss of Pay (LOP).
● The entitled leave can only be used for the current month and no leaves are to be carried
forward to next month.
● Unutilized Leave will expire at the end of the month.
● The entitled leave can be taken on any one of the below categories.

Leave Types: -
1. Casual Leave:
a. Only 1 Casual leave per month will be considered.
b. To be applied at least 2 days prior to the leave date.
c. No documents required.
d. Leaves applied for National holidays (Depending on session requirements) would be
automatically marked as Holiday.
2. Casual LOP (Loss Of Pay)
a. Only 1 extra leave is allowed per month which would be considered as a loss of pay.

3. Exam Preparation Leave


a. These are leaves that are requested for exam preparation.
b. 1 entitled casual leave can be used here and rest would be LOP.
c. Maximum of 7 days of leave can be requested prior to exam date in one single window.
d. Leave to be applied ​7 Days​ prior to the Leave date.
e. Documents related to the exam (Admit card, ​Hall Tickets​) are required to be submitted.
f. Documents will be validated by respective TL/AM prior to approval.
g. Leaves applied on National holidays (Depending on session requirements) would be
automatically marked as Holiday.

Leave Approval & Rejection:

● All leaves to be applied on the google form only. Those applied on the google form will only be
considered for approval or rejection ​(​Form​).
● Leave request for more than 1 day needs to be applied at least 72 hours prior to the leave date.
● For 1 or 2 days leave​ TAT to respond is 24hrs​ from the date of application.
● For leave requests more than 2 days ​TAT to respond is 48 hours​ from the date of application.
● All Leaves to be approved subject to availability of CT as per grade and Subject (to be checked by
TL/AM).
● All duplicate leave requests would be rejected. (For Same day).
● Emergency leaves, would be Approved/Rejected on case to case basis.
● All Leaves to be applied before 25th of every month. No leaves would be
approved after 25th for the same month.

Non-Adherence of Leave SOP:​ -

● If a Leave is taken even after leave rejection by TL/AM


o There will be a penalty on the number of days of such leaves are taken as per
the below matrix
o 3 to 5 days Leave - 3% deduction on overall payout other than LOP
o 6 to 10 days Leave- 6% deduction on overall payout other than LOP.
o 11 to 15 Days Leave - 10% deduction on overall payout other than LOP.
o >15 Days leave - 20% deduction on overall payout other than LOP.
o If a person goes beyond the number of days of applied leaves (which are not
approved) and still does not join back within ​2 days​ without informing, then that
will be considered as absconding and calls for immediate termination.
o Any leave taken without informing for more than 2 days would be considered as
absconding and calls for immediate termination.
● Sharing of forged or wrong documents while applying for leave would not be tolerated
and would be dealt with utmost strictness.

Note : Further changes in SOP would be applicable basis business requirements.
