1. Organizational structure is considered the weakest control mechanism because different country cultures may conflict with hierarchy-based structures and slow down decision making.
2. Hiring fresh graduates has advantages like easier adaptation to company culture and potential for new ideas, but disadvantages like less experience working with clients.
3. Promoting from within promotes loyalty, rewards tenure and experience, and reduces turnover by encouraging internal promotion.

Review:
1) Organizational structure is considered to be the weakest control mechanism is because of the
culture of the different countries might affect or go against it. Given that this type of control mechanism is about having a hierarchy in the company and having someone controlling over the employee such as the manager, some may not accept this type of culture in the company especially for countries who are not into these type of control. Also because this somehow slows down the process of decision making process because there is a hierarchy that needs to be followed 2) Advantages would be that since there is still no culture embedded in fresh grads it would be easier for the company to make them adapt to the culture of the company and given that they are fresh grads their knowledge about the management schools are still new and they can provide new or creative ideas for the company given that they are in the new generation. Also lesser chance that they will demand for high pay or salary which is cost friendly for the company. The disadvantage on the other hand is that they have less experience and given that they are going to face different types of client pressure may get to them and not perform as efficiently as they should. And old clients might not be that comfortable working with new employees because they’ve already established relashionship with old consultant 3) Yes, because this can promote loyalty to the company, and given that they have stayed in the company for a long period of time this means that they have worked efficiently and effectively which is one of the things to be considered for promotion as well. Also tenure as a part of promotion encourages internal promotion which is a good thing because this can lessen the chances of turnovers which saves the company from having the need to train newbies. 4) Management consultants are professionals being hired by a company to help them find a solution for the current problem or identify possible opportunities for companies to grow or expand. But they are only consultants and they only perform tasks that helps a company identify a problem or opportunities and they suggest solutions for it, but they don’t go beyond as to implementing the said solution or suggestion. 5) There are three formal roles of a management consultant, which are doctors, experts, and consultants. The difference between the three is that doctors are the consultants who identifies the problem and provides possible solution and through out the whole process it is only him alone. In the experts they are the consultants in which the scenario is the problem has already been identified but the companies needs experts to find solutions for them as it is not included in the area of expertise of the business. While the facilitator is the type of consultant in which they only facilitate through out the process they work with the client in every step until the end 6) Yes we do need to have a universal definition for management consulting because this provides a standardized job definition for management consultants. And this would allow lessening of confusion between different consultants or aspiring consultants as they can all easily understand and agree on what consultants really do and what are their limits in terms of the job they perform or the services they offer. This also helps companies who wants to hire consultants understand what is really their role as consultants 7) It started because of the increase in demand which eventually lead to the birth of mass production. Because of the gap between small production to mass production the factory owners were still having a hard time trying to handle the business so this is where management consultants came in and taught them how to reach efficiency which is the main goal in factory businesses to be able to keep up with the demand 8) When they only teach managers how they can use IT or new technology in improving their business and reaching more customers and higher level of efficiency then it is management onsultancy. But when they step into the part where they are going to teach them how to use these technologies what are its process and everything including some basic training then this is the time where it becomes business consulting. 9) It is pro-cyclical because the demand for management consultancy goes up usually when the business is doing good or the economics of the country is good. Because hiring consultants can be costly and if the company is facing a financial crisis or doesn’t have extra fund then they cannot hire one even if they want to. 10) The strongest critique for management fashion would be client sophistication, given that consultants are considered as the experts, so it is normal that there are terms that they will use that is not familiar to the clients but sounds pleasing. This can easily make the company fall into it and make them believe in everything that the consultants say and think that they are really doing or making the right decision in taking that act where in fact all of it are still theories to be tested and not proven as much yet 11) Yes I do believe that we should trust management gurus because they are called as gurus for a certain reason and they have been in the industry for a long time that they are really experts in this field already. Yes we can say that they’re also in it for the profit but given their experience and years of training we can still say that their opinions and points can really be of use we just have to learn to filter the information that they feed us and not just blindly listen to everything they are trying to tell us. 12) Yes it makes sense because they are the potential employees of the company and also they are possible to be one of their clients especially for those who have their own family business. Fresh grads especially MBA grads or business students are the employees that meets the basic criteria of being a management consultant which is to have knowledge and ideas on management side since this is their course. Also for companies who are looking for employees who don’t have history with other company culture yet this would be the best option for them 13) Most important for me would be the marketing. Because it talks about marketing to potential employees, introducing or marketing new services to old clients and new clients. And as stated in the previous lessons, management consultancy firms’ main resources is its people. So finding the employee or at least having a good least of potential employee would be beneficial for the business to improve its service and grow its market. Also companies like this focuses on old clients which is why we need to market new ideas for improvement for them. And to further expand the market marketing to new employees is also one of their main goals
