REVOLUTION
Definition
• The era in which technology has been prevalent. Also
known as the Computer Age , Digital Age or New
Media Age, that has brought so much change on how
are we living today.
• The information revolution that began in the 20th
century has been driven in most part by a geometric
growth in the production of high-tech electronics,
including components of computers, computer
peripherals, semiconductors, integrated circuits,
printed circuit boards, video display equipment,
audio equipment, and household electronics
Computer technology is at the root of this change, and continuing advancements
in that technology seem to ensure that this revolution would touch the lives of
people.
• Computers are unique machines; they help to extend the brain power.
• Computerized robots have been replacing blue-collar workers; they might soon be replacing
white collar workers as well.
• Computers are merely devices that follow sets of instructions called computer programs, or
software, that have been written by people called computer programmers.
• Computers offer many benefits, but there are also many dangers. They could help others
invade one's privacy or wage war.
• They might turn one into button pusher and cause massive unemployment. User-friendly
systems can be easily used by untrained people.
• The key development that made personal computers possible was the invention of the
microprocessor chip at Intel in 1971.
An example of the
Information Age is
how virtually every
individual uses the
Internet in some way
at their place of
work. The idea is
linked to the concept
of a digital age or
digital revolution,
as most of this
information is
instantaneously
available online.
•A global wide area
network that connects
computer systems across
the world.
• It provides different
online services. EXAMPLE
S
•The concept of applying
technological advancement
to improve the human life is
significant. The
technological tools
improved the information
revolution to great deal. The
primary objective of
information revolution is to
collect, store, and analyze
data to extract the
information out of it.
Impacts that the Information
revolution has on economic, social,
and political systems:
• Education
• Increase Wealth
• Massive multilayer online
• Easier communication role playing games
• Easier poll talking
• Online workplaces
• Less expensive products
• Easier for searching • Online video chatting
people and places
• YouTube

The Internet
•Tim Berners-Lee
Computer-related
contributions
• Invented
the WWW (World Wide
Web).
• Proposed hypertext.
• Created the first website.
• Founded the World Wide
Web Consortium.
• Name: Leonard Kleinrock
Computer-related contributions
• Created the initial idea of
the ARPANET, the precursor to the
Internet in his first paper entitled
"Information Flow in Large
Communication Nets" on May 31, 1961.
• Developed packet switching.
• Name: Charles Babbage
Computer-related contributions
• Designed the first mechanical computer, which he called the
"Difference Engine" — a machine that could solve polynomial
equations without using multiplication or division. He began
developing the machine in 1822, and worked on it for over ten
years, but its construction was never completed.
• Invented and developed his Analytical Engine in the late
1830s. Like the Difference Engine, the Analytical Engine was
never fully constructed, but its design was highly influential.
• His machine designs were the first to employ several important
concepts used in modern computers, including the separation
of data and program memory, instruction-based operations,
program control using conditional jumps, and a discrete unit
for input/output. Because of this, today he is widely considered
to be the father of computing.
• Name: Konrad Zuse
Computer-related contributions
• Developed the Z1, Z3, and Z4, the
first programmable (modern)
computer, making him the father of
the computer.
• Wrote the first algorithmic
programming language called
'Plankalkül' in 1946.
• One of the first people to create a
commercial computer and computer
company.
• Name: Stephen Gary "Woz"
Wozniak
Computer-related contributions
• Created the Apple I (Apple 1)
in 1976, which was the first
Apple computer.
• Co-Founder and former CEO of
the Apple company.
•Steve Jobs
Computer-related contributions
• Co-Founder and former CEO of
the Apple company.
• Founder of NeXT Computer.
• Owner of Pixar.
• Member of the board of directors of the Walt
Disney Company in 2006.
• Inventor or co-inventor of 342 US Patents
relating to computers and portable devices.
• Spearheaded the advent of
the iPod, iTunes, iPhone, and iPad while CEO of
Apple.

contributions
• Inventor of the first digital
computer, the ABC
(Atanasoff-Berry Computer).
The computer was first
conceived in 1937 and first
tested in 1942.
• Name: Alan Mathison Turing
Computer-related contributions
• English mathematician, logician,
cryptanalyst, and computer scientist who is
considered to be the father of computer
science.
• Developed the Turing Machine in 1936.
• Developed the Turing Test.
• Since 1966, the Turing Award is given
annually by the ACM (Association for
Computing Machinery) to a person for
technical contributions to the computing
community. It is widely considered to be the
computing world's highest honor, equivalent
to the Nobel Prize.
• Name: William H. Gates

Conclusion:
•The Information Age is now. Every era from
the stone age up to industrial Revolution has
led to the world as we know it. Without the
information, knowledge and discoveries of
those from the past ,we would not be where we
are today . The past has shaped our present and
will continue to shape our future.
