ERGONOMICS AND FACILITIES PLANNING FOR THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

ESSAY:

1. What is the difference between hotels and resorts as enterprise?

°The difference between a hotels and a resorts as enterprise is that hotels are usually just a
place for lodging while a resort allows for more privacy, entertainment, and experiences
during your stay. Basically, a hotel is there to serve as a place where you can stay if you are
attending a conference in a different state, or merely wanting to spend a night within a new
environment. On the other hand, resorts are created to provide more than just a place
where you can sleep and stash your belongings.
2. Why we need to learn ergonomics and facilities planning?
° Ergonomics helps employees understand the working knowledge of ergonomics principles
and associated musculoskeletal risk factors thereby reducing its impact. Ergonomics has
proven to be very valuable for workers. It brings a integral focus to study our workplaces
and help us to perform in a more comfortable way, and in consequence, being more
efficient. Having properly managed facilities exponentially increases the efficiency of the
business. If all your facilities are managed, then there is very little that can disrupt work.
People will know where things are kept, not having to waste time looking for materials and
thus increasing efficiency.
3. How is it Important in our industry?
° Implementing ergonomic solutions can make employees more comfortable and increase
productivity. Why is ergonomics important? Ergonomics is important because when you're
doing a job and your body is stressed by an awkward posture, extreme temperature, or
repeated movement your musculoskeletal system is affected. Facility planning is an
important component of health care strategic planning, for it provides an accurate
assessment of the institution's physical environment and its development potential.
4. Why site location is considered the very essential part in putting up business project?
° Location plays a huge role in attracting and retaining the best employees, many of whom
keep a close eye on where they're based in order to optimize work-life balance. Good
location decisions can significantly boost a company's long-term performance. Poor ones
can cost millions in lost talent, productivity and capital. The location of a business positions
it not only to attract a customer base but also to attract the right sort of talent to make the
business a success.
5. Why the elements for consideration in developing the design concept is vital to facilities
planning?
° The effective management of a modern facility represents a significant challenge. The
range of responsibilities encompassed by the facilities manager, the director of clinical
engineering, and their respective departments has grown larger and become more complex
as a result of the continuous infusion of new technologies, and state and federal regulations.
Therefore, to be effective, managers must properly plan, organize, lead and control
employee activities and, at the same time, establish good lines of communication with all
employees. Interpersonal management skills, team building, mentoring, and motivating
others are some concepts that individual managers of people should use to guide their
continuing management education.
