Filipino Culture

Explanation:
Culture is described the basic way of life that is described by the manner of doing
things, beliefs, traditions, and the general governing of a group of people. This is
portrayed in the themes, concepts and ideas of that society.
Filipino culture is considered multicultural because Filipinos do not have a
(unique) identity because of colonization and what they have now are borrowings
from Spanish and American influences throughout the history of time. The Filipino
concept of self reflects a collectivistic perspective, as Filipinos tend to emphasise
values and traits that promote interpersonal cooperation, reciprocity, and social
acceptance, rather than individualistic values such as autonomy and uniqueness
According to Iexplore.com, The culture of the Philippines comprises a blend of
traditional Filipino and Spanish Catholic traditions, with influences from America
and other parts of Asia. The Filipinos are family oriented and often religious with
an appreciation for art, fashion, music, food and political system. Filipinos are also
hospitable people who love to have a good time. This often includes getting
together to sing, dance, and eat. The annual calendar is packed with festivals, many
of which combine costumes and rituals from the nation’s pre-Christian past with
the Catholic beliefs and ideology of present day.
