Purpose of this assignment
The assignment will help the students to demonstrate their understanding of the fundamental
concept of different aspect related with Cloud Computing and apply their knowledge for
developing Cloud Computing Solutions and addresses the technical challenges. On successful
completion of this assignment they will have gained hands-on experience of configuring a
cloud service from a major providers like Google, Amazon etc and at least implement a simple
cloud platform using open source software with appropriate networking platform.
Besides technical stuffs, the students will be demonstrating their skills such as communication
literacy, critical thinking, analysis, reasoning and interpretation, which are crucial for gaining
employment and developing academic competence.
Scenario
Prime Bank. Ltd. Is one of the leading banks in the country that runs a number of financial
services. However, in order to operate its financial services, it uses various IT tools. Cloud
computing is imminent and Prime Bank has already planned to adapt to it for its
organizational financial tasks. Providing smooth and scalable service with ease towards its
costumer has been one of the key priorities for which Prime has decided to move on to SaaS,
PaaS and IaaS on private and public mode.
Prime bank has decided to maintain private data center in Bhairawa for its mission critical and
confidential data. The data center is to maintain with high security and resiliency. Hence,
redundancy and mirror servers and databases are to be deployed with security appliances. This
data center is responsible for running financial transactions and hence to be maintained
privately. For other web services and other customer support services, Prime Bank has opted
for public cloud platform. The organization has decided to take IaaS service from Google
Cloud or Amazon Cloud for its public services. It has also configured and maintained IaaS and
PaaS services in its private cloud. SaaS services to its customer base through online banking,
mobile banking, SMS alert services, etc. have been provided. The use of these services has
been projected to increase dramatically in the next few years.
Prime Bank currently requires at least 80 CPU cores for its private computing in private cloud,
with 50 TB of storage database. Also, it requires additional storage for cold storage of data.
You can implement any one of the private cloud platforms such as Eucalyptus for your need.
Windows servers can be deployed for Domain Control, Linux server can be deployed for other
services such as web servers, DNS, DHCP and other security services. In order to deploy
public cloud platform, you are required to choose from any one of the available public cloud
platforms.
As a Network and System Administrator, you are responsible all the possible aspects of this
cloud deployment. You are responsible to research the available cloud platform and choose
best one among the available platforms. Design, implement and configure the platform for the
use in the banking operation.
Assignment Task – Part 1
With reference to the scenario, prepare a report which:
 Analyzes the evolution and fundamental concept of cloud computing.

 Presents design of an appropriate architectural Cloud Computing framework.
 Discuss your point of views why company should migrate to a cloud
computing solution.
 Define an appropriate deployment model and compares the service models for
choosing a model with real world examples.
 Justifies the tools chosen to realize a Cloud Computing solution
With reference to the scenario; develop cloud computing solutions:
 Configure a Cloud Computing platform with a cloud service provider’s

framework (AWS/GCP/Azure).
 Implement a cloud computing platform using open source tools.
 Discuss the issues and constraints one can face during the development
process and critically discuss how one can overcome these issues and
constraints.
Produce technical report which includes
I. Build and deploy nginx docker image in kubernetes client as Google Platform for PoC
for management.
II. Configure and migrate existing on-premise MySQL database to GCP Cloud SQL and
connect to the database.
III. Configure AI Chatbots for customer support and review.
IV. Deploy network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methods to establish network
baselines and produce network documentation. Also, step by step process of
troubleshooting methods.
V. Prepare cost benefits analysis on-premise infrastructure and application with compare
with the public cloud deployment.
VI. An IT company decides to provide free access to a public cloud dedicated to higher
education. Which one of the three cloud computing delivery models, SaaS, PaaS or
IaaS should it embrace and why? What applications would be most beneficial for the
students? Will this solution have an impact on distance learning? Why?
VII. Describe how Cloud computing technology can be applied to support remote ECG
Monitoring IOT solution.
