A.

Restate the Question : Are we ready for the new normal?

Write your response/opinion about the question: Yes, because we have to prepare for it.
We must recognize that the world is changing. Outside of local news and news sources,
read about it.

Evidence of your opinion: The world is changing. It's only a virus, but it's real. Every
country on the planet is grappling with it. Because we can't go back in time. We cannot
bring the dead back to life. We are unable to decipher the virus. We cannot continue to live
as we have because this is what has caused the virus.

Use your own words and thoughts to explain what the evidence means: The evidence
states that we cannot go back in time because we are now facing a huge problem and
that's COVID 19. We need to prepare and adjust for the new normal because this will
serve as our new life.

B.
Topic and Title of the Article
COVID 19 Pandemic | Coronavirus in Philippines: The COVID-19 risk, impact and
measures

Claim or Counterclaim
Both national and local governments in the Philippines have decided to respond towards
the COVID-19 pandemic with various declarations of emergency, closures of schools and
public meeting places, lockdowns, and other restrictions aimed at slowing the virus's
spread.

EVIDENCE 3:
The government has announced a
lock-down of Metro Manila, followed
by the entire Luzon island and is
mulling over more localised
lock-downs.

EVIDENCE 2:
The Philippines government
declared a health emergency on 09
March, following a spike in new
confirmed cases and local
transmission. The move will release
funds to local governments and
healthcare officials to handle any
further surge in cases.

EVIDENCE 1:
The Philippines government is
taking several steps to control the
spread of the virus, including travel
restrictions, closure of schools and
colleges, as well as training schools
of the Philippines National Police.

C.
1. This idea is good but we don't need to postpone the classes in the time of COVID 19.
We have an internet connection, we have gadgets so this will help to resume the
class even though there is a virus called CORONA.
2. "There are also concerns about internet connection and lack of preparedness for
home schooling or online learning for many students in the country." There is no
problem with the internet connection. The problem is "lack of gadgets." We all know
that a lot of Filipino don't have a cell phone because of their life status but if they
really want to face the new normal they should provide at least for the student who
doesn't have the ability to buy a phone or anything that will help to face the new
normal.
3. The virus can be done by at least 24th of August or by September but we are now in
May 2021 and the cases are increasing and We don't have enough care facilities.

WEEK 3
WHAT I CAN DO (pg. 9)
THE RAIN IN ESPAÑA
Introduction: The author of the University Series, 4reuminct, or better known as gwyomi on
Twitter, has been writing twitter series for a while now, and while I have not read those, it
was clearly a hit, particularly with young adult readers, due to the plot, humor, and unique
story-telling. So I knew her name at the very least. What I didn't realize was that she also
writes on Wattpad and is a published author.

Plot: In a family of doctors, Kalix decided to take a different path and found himself studying
Legal Management in Ateneo De Manila University. With family pressure on him, he tried so
hard to maintain his high grades as a Dean’s Lister until Luna from UST Architecture came.

Luna is a cheerful girl, while Kalix is a very serious man. He has the aura that will intimidate
you. Luna made the first move because she has a crush on Kalix. She's making pick up lines
just to see Kalix's smile until Kalix falls in love. They had a relationship but they broke up
because of a huge problem and they came back to each other when they reached their
goals.

Commentary:
What I like best about this first installment is that the author did an excellent job of
establishing the tight bond between the characters in Luna's circle of friends, and how far
they will go to keep their friendship intact despite their own personal problems. I also
appreciate the information about their universities included in the first chapters.

WHAT I CAN DO (pg. 38)

Children below 10 years old should not be given access to social media.

Introduction
Allowing your child to use social media sites can have an impact on their
development and even their transition into adolescence. It may be acceptable for your child
to use social media under supervision, but the disadvantages outweigh the benefits on a
variety of levels. You can't watch their every move because a potential danger could be one
click away and they won't even realize it.
The Body
As your children grow older, they will begin to ask new questions about themselves.
For girls, this means focusing on fashion trends and makeup, whereas for guys, deodorant
and hair gel become more important. Ironically, keeping up with trends is important for fitting
in, but if the child uses social media, the results will be different

On these sites, they will be influenced not only by kids their own age and in their
circle
of friends, but also by kids from all over the world.

Your kid might share too much. Like it or not, If a child under the age of ten uses a
social media site, they will be tempted to share, and they may share things that are not
appropriate for the entire world to see. In addition, small children may photograph and share
photos of your ID or credit card. Even if they only share their location or an image that clearly
shows where they are, it can attract the attention of stalkers and shady characters and put
your child in danger.

They may become a victim of online bullying or become one themselves.Bullying on

Social media sites can be even more harmful than bullying in person because users can act
freely and, in many cases, anonymously. While bullying occurs at any age, children under
the age of ten are the most affected because this is when children's self-esteem begins to
develop. As a result, bullying causes children to seek virtual approval, which can become
uncontrollable.

All of the trends, bullying, and false reality can easily make children anxious, if not
depressed. Kids still do not have strong self-esteem and confidence, which is why they
should not be allowed to use social media. During this time, children should be encouraged
to develop their strengths; otherwise, their lives may be more difficult.

Conclusion
A child's receptive mind incorporates any idea, suggestion or information without
judging it. It is important that children are exposed to stuff that gives knowledge, enhances
their thinking ability and shapes up their perception. Not every content available on social
media is good. The portrayal of violence or something indecent leaves a lasting impression
on young minds.

Subject: Thank You Message

Dear Gillian,

Some of my favorite memories are of us swinging on the playset or walking around the
neighborhood. We seemed to be able to accomplish anything we set our minds to. We not
only got to grow up together, but we also quickly became best friends. I am grateful to you
for teaching me the true meaning of friendship at such a young age.

I'm so glad you were there for all of my first adventures in life. So many significant events
occur in elementary school that are completely overlooked. My first crush. Your first crush.

Thank you for always being there to lend a sympathetic ear. Like the time I cut my hair too
short and was afraid that everyone would mock me. You were also my celebratory partner
when I received an on those difficult mad minutes. I'll never forget our late-night
discussions about our personal and family issues.

Despite the fact that we have since parted ways, our childhood bonds remain strong. I'll be
eternally grateful for the laughs and deep discussions we've had. Thank you for always
being the best friend a girl could have. I'll never forget you or the memories we created
together.

Yours Truly,
Dj
Your best friend
