1. According to former National Historical Institute Chair, Dr. Ambeth R. Ocampo, the
journey and struggle of Rizal Bill into a law during the 1950s is a “fight for Rizal’s
legacy.” As a student, how can you reflect on this momentous line?
As students, we should be thankful to be taught about the person who gave us

freedom and showed us the importance of love for our country. We should not forget
about his contributions that made us who we are today. Running through our veins is
also the blood of our heroes. We are their legacy. And as Dr. Jose Rizal said, "Ang
kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan." means that he believed in us and in what we could
do. Learning about his works will truly motivate, inspire and serve as an eye opener for
us young
people.________________________________________________________________
2. One of the aims of this law is “to rededicate the ideals of freedom and nationalism.”
As a student of Rizal course, do you think how can you accomplish this kind of
perspective despite being in an online/blended learning class?
Despite this online/blended learning class, we can accomplish this kind of

perspective by being persistent and eager to learn. In this way, we can learn the ideals
of Dr. Jose Rizal and we can be the voice for the youths. We can spread what we've
been taught and, as a 21st century learner, we can use social media as a platform to
advocate for other young people to be patriotic, nationalistic and thankful for the
freedom we are experiencing right now. _________________

3. Some historians mentioned that the struggle of Rizal Bill before it became a
resemblance of the Reproductive Health Bill in the year 2000. How can you compare
and contrast the views of persons who are favor and against on these laws?
We can't deny that there are people who have strong spiritual connections and
beliefs. They have their own rights and beliefs that in some may be normal and the
other way around. Those who were against the said bills were the same in terms of
what they spiritually believe and that some statements in the bill were against the rules
of the church. On the other hand, those who were in favor of the bill were concerned
about continuing the legacy of our National Hero and those that protect the people from
further problems. We have our own opinion in any situation, but aside from this,
approved or not, there are people who are ensuring the implementation of it and have a
plan for what it can give or take from the people. ______________________

C. Explain the Rizal Law by means of the following areas. You can use some legitimate

POINT/AIM: The aim/point of the Republic Act No.
1425 or Rizal Law is to rededicate the
lives of youth to the ideals of freedom and
nationalism, for which our heroes lived
and died. To pay tribute to our national
hero for devoting his life and works in
shaping the Filipino character.
LACK IN TERMS OF: According to the paper I read in
Inquirer.Net entitled “Do we really know
Rizal? Rizal Law ineffective” by Mona
Lisa H. Quizon, the law is ineffective
because some of the people know Rizal
only by name. Even college students
question the relevance of Rizal subject. I
think the Rizal Law lack in terms of
motivating students the essence of
learning the life of Rizal.
CAN HELP FILIPINO The Rizal Law can help Filipino youth to
YOUTH TO: understand themselves better as a
Filipino and to love their own country. It
teaches youths not just life lessons but
also not to give up easily. It serves as an
inspiration to everybody, all his ideals’
principles and aspirations.
