Unenclosed Characters
Simply use the characters as you would any other font.
Note that because not all music notation programs can kern text, the characters +, -, *, and ( are
designed to be used before a mallet character or number. The characters ) and ! are designed to be
used after a mallet or number.

First type the box for the number of characters you intend to enclose using the lowest row on the keyboard (see the
chart below). Then enter the characters themselves.
