Introduction

Wind has been used by humans since ages ago. Around 3000 years, wind was usually
used for pumping water and the grains of crops, they are used fossil fuels then, it was
common and widely used before they discovered the power of wind. It is wide-ranged
available and cheap for people. It was studied and improvised by scientists until it was
available for everyone. Wind turbines use blades to collect the wind’s kinetic energy. In
the world today, progress of technologies to develop larger WTGs are remarkable, and it
makes electric output per one WTG unit increased and large field of WTGs called "wind
farm" has developed. Technologies of building offshore WTGs are progressing as well.
Wind flows over the blades creating lift (similar to the effect on airplane wings), which
causes the blades to turn. The blades are connected to a drive shaft that turns an electric
generator, which produces (generates) electricity. People started to realize its reliability
with its components like rotors and turbines.

Wind power generation is power generation that converts wind energy into electric
energy. The wind generating set absorbs wind energy with a specially designed blade
and converts wind energy to mechanical energy, which further drives the generator
rotating and realizes conversion of wind energy to electric energy.

The commonly used wind power generation systems include the direct-driven wind
power generating set and the double-fed wind power generating set; the direct-driven
wind power generating set is connected to the grid through a full power converter, while
the double-fed wind power generating set is connected to the grid through a double-fed
converter.

Turbines are more effective in terrain than in forests as it depends on the environment it
is placed to work efficiently. Its capabilities are dependent on power management it
provides, as well as its assembly, infrastructure, and the maintenance. Types of turbines
affect the availability of the produced energy. Its concepts will predict the result and
performance of the study. The propeller- like blades of a turbine around a rotor, which
spins a generator, which creates electricity. For permanent magnet excitation, the
generator achieves maintenance-free operation and reduced failure rate by removing
slip rings for external excitation. Due to no need of external excitation system, power
generating efficiency increases. With the use of water cooling and internal fan cooling
systems, the generator does not take in air from outside, which is suitable for use in an
environment with many fine particles in space or coastal/offshore areas.

Its energy will produce will mainly depend on its environment, that is why highways are
good to the project. Cars that passed by these places are really fast that it sways people
by its impact. Its turbine as well should be effective enough to gather efficient force to
rotate in desirable way. We can conclude that every component in the study will be
crucial to every information. May it be the led or the electrical wires.

Statement of the Problem

Methodology

Method of data collection

The researchers gathered the following material such as propeller, generator, lights
and electrical wires that we will buy at the electronic shops and hardwares in
Olongapo City. Shell or the outside design is bought at the Olongapo City public
markets.

1. Preparation of Wind Generator

Each wind generator will have turbine to gather energy, afterwards, the
generator will be connected to electrical wires of sidewalk light posts.

2. Preparation and assembly of Wind Generator for Highways Design

and Sidewalk Light Posts
A huge curved type of plastic bought from hardwares or in public markets will be
created as propeller for the highway design as well as led lights will be bought on
electrical shops and that the researchers will make a feasible design for the
output.
3. Design for the study

The design will be depending on its requirement on the experiment. It shows the
gap between the sidewalk light post and the wind propeller as it will gather power to
rotate the turbines on both lanes.

4. Measuring the voltage gathered

The voltage will be gathered and the turbines will be tested on what should be the
changes on its design as well as the propeller.
