BSMA 1104 – MAIN Activity 3

1. Compare and contrast Affirmative Action Programs and Diversity Management.

How does each of the two address diversity in the workplace?

- These two both deal with the issues of discrimination. The difference between these
two is that in Affirmative Action Program focuses on creating positive steps to get
the individuals into the organization while, Diversity Management deals in changing
the organizational culture, skills, and policies to get the best from everyone.
Affirmative Action Programs can address diversity in the workplace by motivating
their workers it can help the workers to work better in the organization. While
Diversity Management can address diversity by changing the organizational culture,
skills, and policies into new and better so that it would be easy for the workers to
give their best to their works. These two have the same goal for their workers and
organization, the only difference is how they will execute it.

2. Explain the dimensions of national culture. Discuss why it is important in

organizations with international participation.

- The main purpose of the dimensions of the natural culture is to give other clients or
organizations assurance. Many organizations interact or work with other countries
so every organization should give assurance to other organizations for better
transactions. These dimensions are important especially with international
participation because it is hard to risk your organization to something you don't
know. With the help of these dimensions, it will be easier for other organizations to
trust your organization. These can help the organizations to work with others
effectively and successfully.

3. In the context of organizational behavior, explain the concept of “Think Globally, Act
Locally” in maintaining a global brand. You may relate this with discussion of the
dimensions of culture.

- The concept "Think Globally, Act Locally" simply means to think what will everyone
wants but made it locally because it needs to have an originality of your own.
Maintain global brands by making the best of our products but do not imitate what
others created. We should have our product that we can call our own because it has
something that only our company has. Be creative on our products and goods that
everyone will like but never copy what others have done because this can make our
products not likeable by others. Being true and original in our ways can make us
successful.
