Title I LOVE natUre: “Plant a Tree, Reap a Love” a Fundraising Activity
II. Project Description
The KKDAT and SK Pinili came up with the idea of conducting a tree planting activity to raise funds for their next project which is the, Adapt-a-School Project which will happen at Godogod Elementary School. I L.O.V.E naTure: Plant a Tree, Reap a Love! Love comes in different ways, different perspectives, different meanings and different actions but love always starts in our hearts. We KKDAT and SK Pinili have different meaning of the word L.O.V.E - Let us Outreach and Venture more in our Environment and in connection with the project I L.O.V.E natUre: Plant a Tree, Reap a Love, we want to showcase something that could harness our love not just as being a couple, being happily single, love for our family and friends but also our love for our mother nature. As Victor Hugo once said, "Love is like a tree, it grows of its own accord, and it puts down deep roots into our whole beings." III. Rationale This is essential to our community and offer a wide range of benefits to our environment. The benefits from this activity is recognized as one of the most engaging, environmentally friendly activities that people can take part in to better the planet. Trees provide a multitude of benefits, both long and short term. As well as being attractive aesthetically, they remove and store carbon from the atmosphere, slow heavy rain and so reduce the risk of flooding, enhance air quality and improve the urban heat island effect by reflecting sunlight and providing shade. Trees greatly benefit the people living around them by having a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing, reducing stress and encouraging outdoor exercise. This is in addition to the benefits they will receive from an improved environmental quality and improved amenity which comes with planted areas. In line with the celebration of Valentine’s Day, expecting that this activity has its own twist. As stated in the title, “I LOVE nature: Plant A Tree, Reap a Love” a Fundraising Activity”, means that it has connection in celebrating love. As a result of participating in this activity, the KKDAT and SK members can achieve a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, knowing that they can make a positive difference. In addition, the activity enables great interaction among couples and individuals while having fun and giving back to the environment. With the aforementioned statements, the project leaders are motivated to conduct the activity, among participants coming from the community. By doing this activity, KKDAT and SK will discover awareness on the importance of tree planting. Furthermore, this activity raises the value of friendship, unity, cooperation and of course love. Finally, the activity is also our way of addressing disaster risk reduction and mitigating the effects of climate change. IV.
