Letter of Intent
I honestly never thought of Architecture, but I have always been mesmerized and curious in the art and science
it held. Since I was a child I have had the opportunity to live in different countries. Therefore, I have personally
experienced art and architecture from the diversity of culture through exploration and travel, emphasizing the
limitless technological and creative possibilities that are found in architecture. I realized that I have developed
this strong passion towards islamic architecture after living for several years in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and
visited Al-Masjid An-Nabawi in Madinah. When I first saw it I have this congenital desire to explore how it is
possible for science, art, islam and technology to enhance the overall performance of buildings in social and
environmental architecture, and how it has introduced the diversity of my own personality, enabling me to
engage in the creative, scientific and religious aspects, as well as its aesthetic and functional designs.
Furthermore, I had always been interested in the arts. I’m also active in social activities, and volunteer at
different events where I was able to demonstrate my abilities, leadership and commitment. As one of the main
professional achievements I would like to point out is my involvement in being a chairman in the design of the
school art exhibition and a chairman in the Student Council section 5; Development of creativity, skills and
entrepreneurship. Thanks to the experiences I have gained practical skills in designing, work scope framing and
project planning scheduling. My journey to strive into the islamic architecture career began to grow rapidly
when I was attending the Asia Pacific Youth SDGs Summit. I met hundreds of people from various nationalities,
but it was never so amazing until I met a Turkish scholar named Aysel. Our conservation went mind-blowing.
We discussed Hagia Sophia architectural beauty and how it was once a church, later a mosque, and now a
museum. Since then I did a lot of research about Turkey and it became my number one priority to pursue my
dreams – to be able to study islamic architecture in Turkey where Turkey has most of the best architecture
even in the Ottoman era; to create designs for new construction projects, alterations and redevelopments in the
future. Two cities, Istanbul and Bursa, will be a perfect place for me to run my future plan: study, explore,
community involvement, and self-development. These cities would give me the greatest chance to study and
explore islamic architecture. Since it contains young students – particularly Turkish – who's also studying so
that we can collaborate. And since it has many places with great architecture centers, specifically Blue Mosque,
Hagia Sophia, Yesil Cami, and many more. With all the opportunities Türkiye Bursaları has offered, I look
forward to a future where I can use my architectural knowledge to contribute to my country.
In this section, it is expected to explain following details: your academic and social experiences relating the field you want to take an education, your
reasons for choosing Turkey for study and the importance of your future plans for your education and scholarship in Turkey.
I have always dreamed of being independent and getting the chance to study abroad by myself ever since I
was in junior high school. But I was quite confused about which country would be my destination. After I did
some research I have finally decided to choose Turkey and I believe that Türkiye Bursaları could be the path to
achieve that. I Feel that I have not satisfied my urge to learn, especially when there is so much still to learn. I do
not perceive high school as an end. I have a strong desire to push ahead, and I plan to invest a lot in my
education to build my career. To fully utilize my time spent in high school, I now require a program that can
provide me with the best resources, and educational tools available. Turkey's University can rightly provide me
those and I hope that I will be given an opportunity to not only study at one of Turkey's Universities, but also to
become fully absorbed in your planning community. I am applying after carefully reviewing the course
curriculum, the major focus and facilities. There are a lot of things that I'm planning to do that are wished to be
achieved. The first thing I would do is to join the association of Indonesian students in Turkey; to stay active in
social and nationalist activities and to unite with other Indonesian youth. Besides that, I want to participate in
activities that will be held by Türkiye Bursaları to improve my self worth. Then, I'd most likely join many activities
in university to improve my soft skills and my talents in; dance, arts, sports and photography. I would also like to
join an organization and use this opportunity to tighten the relation between Turkey and Indonesia. I'd also love
to learn more about; Turkish history, art, and culture. Aside from that, it would be an honor for me to teach
locals about Indonesia's culture. Of course, with that in mind. I would not forget my main goal and responsibility,
which is to study and focus on my major until I graduate on time, just as with the Türkiye Bursaları aspiration. I
believe that I'm competent to do both social and educational things well. I look forward to the academic wisdom
I will gain attending the University in Turkey as well as the life skills I can learn from the experience of
completing my college education. I believe that experiencing college life -especially in Turkey- will teach me far
more than just the skills necessary to receive a certificate. It will teach me even greater perseverance and the
value of not giving up so that I may influence and empower the leaders of tomorrow.
If you have a subject in your application documents that you think is not clear enough and you want to explain, or if you want to draw the attention of
the evaluation committee, please briefly explain in this section.

Travelling is one of those few activities that has a kind of reset button in my life. I go away for a few days or weeks
and come back fresh and ready to take on challenges of life head on. Personally, I like traveling for the sole reason
of learning different cultures, interacting with different people, and of course the delicious cuisine that every country
has. Besides that I also love to wonder at the unique architecture that every country has. Every country’s
Architecture always captivates me and even the history behind it amazes me. How could art and science create
such a masterpiece? Therefore I have been interested in Architecture ever since. Furthermore, being away from
home really makes me appreciate it even more. The feeling I get after traveling is priceless and above all, it makes
me appreciate my life and the little I have. Traveling has given me the greatest education. I know more about the
world, cultures, and myself.
