B. ANALYZE

Are the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their functions and
characteristics?

The Learning Resource Center of La Paz National High School is just enough
considering that the population of the school is about 8,000 Junior High School. Moreover, it
also serves as an extension English classroom. With regards to the available resources, I believe
that they are appropriate and suitable for grade school students.

Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teachers?
Why? Why not?

With regards to the use of the resources especially the microphones, speakers, and
projectors, these things are properly monitored. There is a borrower’s slip where the teachers
who want to borrow the material sign up, indicating the date they will return the material. This is
especially important to prevent loss of these learning materials.

What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

Through the efforts of the teachers, the main strength of the learning resource center is its
attractiveness to the students. A lot of pictures are posted on the walls, which by themselves;
serve as learning materials to the students. The ICT resources are properly maintained as well.

What are its weaknesses?

The main weakness is its small physical size because I believe that in the future more students
will be enrolled in the school. The growing number of students makes it difficult for them to fit
in the learning resource center. Moreover, it also serves as an extension English classroom,
which makes it even smaller.

C. REFLECT

Which of the materials in the Learning Resource Center caught your interest the most?
Why?
The Smart TV is newly installed in the learning resource center. The screen is big enough
for the students, and it can be connected to the computer. I believe that they are very convenient
for the teachers. Creation of visual aids can be minimized since supplementary clips are available
online.

Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?

Except for the Smart TV, I believe that I am already confident in using all other learning
materials available in the learning resource center. I usually bring my laptop for my kindergarten
classes when I introduce them new songs or dances to supplement my topic.

Which ones do you feel you need to learn more about?

I believe that Smart TV is an emerging trend in technology and education. The

learning environment can become interactive in a way that students are encouraged to
participate in classroom discussions. It attracts the attention of the students making both
teaching and learning effective.
