TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Learning has no end; therefore, I have learnt to understand that, each classroom has its own special
and uniqueness as community with dynamic learners having potentials. Of such, it is my core duty as
tutor to assist each student to develop their potentials and learning style that best suit them.

Having that in mind, my philosophy is to ensure that, there are diverse strategies that will aid the
learner in their learning; by presentation of outline that incorporates different learning styles and
also ensure the contents are relevant to the development of the students’ potentials on
environmentally friendly for teaching and learning. Such environment includes, as tutor, serving as
guide to the students, allowing the students to expose their potentials that guide their learning and
instituting respect for all people.

I believe hands-on learning, cooperating learning, projects and individuals work that will engage and
activate students learning potentials. Notwithstanding the above, it is my core mandate of adopting
and learning new ideas, strategies and new philosophies that will enhance my teaching through
continuous training.

REFLECTIVE PRACTICE

Having adopted model developed by Spencer (1989), ORID reflective model , I used to set Objective
by introduction questions that related to the concrete experience bring out core value in the
6|Page
students as to what they do, observe, read and who was involved. Then Reflective set in, with
question that address the effective experience as to how the students feels, what remind them of
what they have learned or observed.

Also, Interpretive is required by starting with questions that address their cognitive experience such
as what did the experience make them think and how did their thinking change afterward. Finally,
Decisional is drawn from introduction of questions that affect their development in terms of their
potentiality in the future and how did the experience affect their use of information, skills and
understanding. This model makes my students critical thinkers as I really want them to have the feel,
contribution and participation of the teaching and learning.
