EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT
On-the-job training (OJT) is a practical approach to acquiring new competencies and skills
needed for a job in a real, or close to real, working environment.
It is often used to learn how to use tools or equipment in a live-work practice, simulated, or
training environment.
Rather than showing employees presentations or giving them worksheets, they learn about the
job by doing it. This training happens at the workplace, with guidance from a supervisor,
manager, or another knowledgeable employee.
New employees that undergo on-the-job training get a firsthand look at all the work procedures
they can expect to encounter. They learn workplace expectations, equipment operation, and any
other skill they need to complete their job successfully.
On-the-job training may take anywhere from days to weeks or longer, depending on the tasks the
job requires. Often, new employees start by shadowing other employees and then move onto
completing these tasks with supervision.
There are all types of learners: some are visual, some are hands-on, and some do better by
reading instructions. However, on-the-job training has incredible importance in today’s
workforce.
On-the-job training allows employees to gain experience working in situations very similar to
those they will encounter on a daily basis. Employees will use the same tools and equipment they
need for their job while being guided by an experienced trainer.
This allows employees to learn and practice their job while still in training.
Other training methods, like online training or seminars, only give employees basic information
rather than actual experience.

Challenges
The first challenges I encountered was the environment, I don’t know whether to feel excited
or nervous because finally, I will be also to experience so called “real world”. Nervousness and
shyness are always there when it’s your first time. For many reasons. I don not have any actual
experience, and we’re still not quite sure about the work we will be doing for this entire On-The-
Job Training. That made me quiet at first, trying to observe on how to get along with the
employees.
The problem that I have met is while I was using the computer it suddenly off and I do not
know what to do. I turned off the computer to rest, Then I open the computer again.

Learnings
The training I had in the library, is learning many experiences each day. I was exposed
in the actual work in real-state company, became familiar with the documents and learn how to
use equipment that are usually used in the office. Aside from those things, I also learned to be
more sociable and to adjust myself in the environment where I am working at and I am working
with. In my two months stay there; I learned many things not only those things that are related to
my course but also the things that molded me into the person I am right now. As I was working
as a trainee at library, I learned to become hardworking person. The time to finish the task
assigned to me is important, but it is also important that I should do it correctly. I also learn to
follow the instructions and to accept or admit my failures and should learn from it as what my
supervisor said to me.
After the training, I realized that on-the-job training is not just a requirement to be
completed but it is an opportunity to show what skills, knowledge, and talents that I have and an
opportunity to experience the feeling of being a professional already.
Conclusion
This training gave me an inspiration to be more serious and focused on studying.
Despite the short period of training, it was still a very meaningful one. This training made me
realize that it is good to know what you’re doing, and to love it. As a student, what I can do for
now is to learn whatever I can in school, be inspired, love the path I am taking, and do my best
in everything I do. With a positive outlook in mind. It is also very warm to the heart to know that
you have accomplished something and even warmer when there are so proud of what you have
done, and I felt this feeling during my on-the-job training.
My on-the-job training is very helpful and will be verry helpful to me as I continue to take
my journey as a fourth-year student. It really gives me a taste in a real world- a glimpse of what
lies after I graduate
