for their contribution to the knowledge we had, to show some respect, love, and

appreciation. Giving them credit for their guidance is the only way we can show

how much we value their abilities. We learn a lot from them, not only about being

an engineer and how hard it is to work but also about what they say to give us

motivation and a lot of life lessons we can use until we are adults. Appreciating,

loving, and respecting them are the best things we can give them.
 BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

The author, Prince Aljhon B. Reyes was born on September 11,2005 he is

the middle child of Mrs. Alma B. Reyes And Alfredo J. Reyes. He Attained his

kindergarten and elementary years at Ibaba Elementary School and graduated

with academic excellence. He then spent his Junior High school years at Poten

and Eliseo MQMNHS and graduated with an academic excellence award. He is

now pursuing his Senior High school years at Paete Science And Business

Colleges and will Graduate this school year.

When he was young, he was aspiring to be an Exceptional Basketball Player,

he always joined a summer league and tournaments. While he was still in

Elementary, he was fond of participating in Math Quiz Bee and Robotics. In his

junior high school years he was an active MTAP math challenge participant; he

always attended the division level of Math Quiz Bee and yearly attended the Math

Camp.

The author believes that she will finish this course because she has an

inspiration and that is her family, who are very supportive, helping and sacrificing

for her to have a successful career. The author is also thankful to God, our Creator,

because he gave her wonderful and good parents.

 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

I, Prince Aljhon B. Reyes STEM student from PAETE SCIENCE AND BUSINESS

COLLEGES, had completed a total of one hundred twenty (120) hours of work

immersion in ENGINEERING OFFICE of Siniloan, Laguna from March 13 - March

31, 2023 On-The-Job Training or OJT is job training that occurs in workplace. It is

part of the Senior highschool curriculum where you are able to train your skills

about the work and your future career. It is very important especially to those

students who want to learn about their future job and to show students the reality

of work.

In the span of Three Weeks I was able to show my skills, I was able to

improve my own skills and knowledge, and I was able to experience working my

future job. It is a big challenge for me to interact with people in a new environment

especially for my young age working like a regular employee.

As aspiring Engineers, we learned a lot from them throughout our work

immersion. Here, we learn how to estimate the expenses, how to get the ratio and

proportion of plans, how to compute the estimated value of building, how to create

plans, and a lot of things we learn throughout work immersion.

 Chapter 1

INTRODUCTION

Work immersion is an important component of Senior High School (SHS)

education, as it provides students with hands-on experience in a professional

setting. This program allows students to gain practical knowledge, skills, and work

habits that they can use as they transition to college life, the workforce, or when

establishing their own business. Work immersion also helps students explore

career options and identify their interests, strengths, and weaknesses, which can

guide their post-secondary choices.

The relevance of work immersion to Senior High School students cannot be

overstated. First, it provides them with a glimpse of the real-world work

environment, enabling them to understand the demands and expectations of

different industries. This experience helps students prepare for the transition from

school to work or college, making them better equipped to adapt to the challenges

of these environments. Furthermore, work immersion can also expose students to

various career opportunities, allowing them to explore different fields of study and

identify which career path they wish to pursue.

Through work immersion, students can also develop essential work-related skills

such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, time management, and

responsibility. These skills are necessary not only in the workplace but also in

college and in running one's own business. Thus, work immersion is an excellent

way to prepare students for future success, regardless of their chosen path.

Work immersion is a vital aspect of Senior High School education that can provide

students with practical experience, exposure to various career opportunities, and

the development of essential work-related skills. It is a valuable tool in preparing

students for college life, the workforce, and the challenges of running their own

business.
Historical Background of the Company

MAJOR SIGNIFICANT EVENT AND SITUATIONS LEADING TO THE

PRESENT STATUS OF THE MUNICIPALITY

HISTORICAL ROLES AND EVENTS.

Historically speaking, the first ever written account on the name of the municipality

of Siniloan is Guiling-guiling, a phonetic deteriotion of a word “gumigiling’

In 1583, twelve(12) years after the colonization of the City of Manila and the

province of Laguna, a group of Spaniards aboard a vessel docked along Laguna,

de bay. At that time, some women were milling palay in the ricefields. So when the

Spaniards cam and inquired about the name of the Place, the natives thought that

they were asking about what they are doing. The native’s response was “kami po

ay gumigiling”. The Spaniards repeated the word, however, they could hardly

pronounced exactly the Tagalog word, instead, they uttered “guiling-guiling” From

thereon, the name of the Place was Known as GUILING-GUILING. But it was not

until the arrival of three(3) brothers named, Juan Pili, Juan Puhawan, and Juan

Puno in 1604 which paved the way to the adoption for new nama.

Being fisherman, the three brothers settled along the river banks. They were able

to prosper in dividing a parcel of land among themselves equally. The people were

so impressed on the techniques these three men made in subdividing the area. A

missionary priest came forward and asked them how they subdivided the land
equally. The three brothers replied, SINLULUANG po. Due to the inability of the

Spaniards to pronounce the word properly, Siniloan came to existence.

It was in 1579 that Siniloan was founded. However, it was not until 1583, that if

was established and recognized as a pueblo. Through the Franciscan Missionaries

headed by Father Juan dela Placencia and Diego de Oropesa, Siniloan was born.

During the Spanish rule, the citizens became interested with government

organization. It was during this time that Gregorio Redor became known as the

Brain of Siniloan.

The coming of the Americans in the late 1890’s paved the way to the social,

cultural, economic and political restructuring of the country. In 1935, a revolt

against the government broke where peasant natives rose in arms in Central and

Southern Luzon due to agrarian problems. This social discontent was well

illustrated by the SAKDAL uprising, an organization identified with the peasants.

Under the Japanese regime, the people of Siniloan became dependent on rice

production. This livelihood became the backbone of their existence. Laguna during

that time was the center of the resistance despite the presence of makapili traitors.
The Municipality of Sinioan under bondage of different colonial governments

continued its existence even under the present socio-economic difficulties and

crisis.

The local natives of the town were influenced by various racial and ethnic groups

such as Aeta, a typical influence among the natives, looks with curly hair, thick lips,

flat nose; a tall physique and straight haired people was an Indonesian blood;

Malay custom of burying the dead with their dead were practiced among the

natives. Business and other commercial endeavors are typically Chinese

influence. Words like balatong, bantay, palakol are Hindu's contr’bution.

The municipality under foreign rules flourished and developed and some of the

natives joined forces with other provinces in the revolution against the Spaniards.

The herces of Siniloan were in the persons of Mariano Acevida, Eustaquio Javier,

Victoriano Advento, Meleciano Pandeno, Ariston Serrano, Don Vicente Fernandez

and Pascual de Rosas. They were some of the Illustrations revolutionaries of the

time.

After the Spanish rule, the people become concerned with Governmental

organization. During this time, the name of Gregorio Redor, became known as the

Brain of Siniloan. With the coming of Americans, 1900, the revitalization of the

political, social, cultural, and economic aspects of development was felt by the
people. Democratic government was institutionalized during the American regime.

Mayorship started with the Municipal Executive as PRESIDENT MUNICIPAL.

SINILOAN, based on the Philippine Commission Act 939 enacted

in October 12, 1903 was pronounced pueblo. It was amended by

Philippine Commonwealth Act 1008, enacted in November

25,1903.

Services, and Agriculture in Eastern Laguna, having an ecologically-balanced

environment committed to provide better quality of life through a harmonious

community under an efficient crime deterrent, disaster resilient local governance

and home of healthy, empowered, gender-responsive mand God-fearing citizenry.

SINILOAN, bilang nangungunang bayan sa Ekoturismo, Ekonomiya, Kalakalan,

Edukasyon, Serbisyong Panlipunan, Pansakahan, at Pangisdaan sa Silangang

Bahagi ng Laguna na may balanseng ekolohiyang pangkalikasan na nakatuon sa

pagbibigay ng mataas na antas ng pamumuhay sa gabay ng epektibong

pamamahala laban sa kriminalidad, kahandaan sa kalamidad at pagpapalakas ng

komunidad na malusog, makakasarian, at may takot sa Diyos.

The Engineering office of Siniloan, Laguna is responsible for all the

clients or projects that they will get. Some of other department in municipality of

serving reliable services. The Municipal Engineering Office Operates 8am-5pm a

day, 5 days a week to provide timely and efficient services to the clients.

The trainee received the on-the-job training at the Engineering office

Municipality of Siniloan, Laguna. Starting on March 13, 2023, and ending on March

31, 2023. It is composed of 120 hours or 15 working days not including Saturday

and Sunday.

DAILY ROUTINARY ACTIVITY

In this chapter, the student trainee presents the day-to-day standardize

actions or procedures that are followed regularly and often repetitiously.

DESCRIPTION
March 13, 2023 At exactly 7:30 am in the morning I

(Monday) arrived at the municipality of

Siniloan. Every Monday morning

they always do a flag ceremony and

end it around 8 or 8:30 am. After the

flag ceremony we take a picture with

the municipal mayor of Siniloan and

start the orientation and

recommendation to the Engr. Office

of Siniloan. We start our work as a

regular employee in the afternoon

after the deployment. The First thing

we do is we arrange the blueprints

 from old blueprints to the latest

blueprints. After we arranged they

taught us how to get the ratio and

proportion of a plan and after that it’s

already 5pm so we took our Daily

time record out and went home.

March 14, I wake up early to prepare my food

2023 that I will bring into the office, after I

(Tuesday) prepare my meal I suit up and leave

the house. When I arrived at the

municipality,we went to the multi

purpose building and went to the

stock room where all the old

plans/blueprints are stored. We

clean the stock room and arrange

the old files,blueprints and plans

from old to latest. We finish that work

only in the morning. After we finish

that work we eat because it’s lunch

time and in the afternoon the car that

will pick us up has arrived. When

we’re in the office they gave us a

paper that we will encode for the

 entire work immersion and on that

day i encode the year 2014 of their

projects from january to december.

March 15, I wake up early because this day we

2023 will go to the field with some staff of

(Wednesday) another department where we are

going to estimate the land field that

will be the additional road in the

future. At 8am in the morning we

start walking from the gas station

and end at 10:30am in the wawa of

Siniloan. It is a great experience to

be part of that team even if it is so

hot at that time it is a great

adventure. In the afternoon they

teach us how to make a plan for our

dream house. The municipal

Engineer told us to go to the

infirmary to measure the dirty

kitchen that will be under renovation

and the land that will be built for the

kitchen.
March 16, As a daily basis on that day we do

2023 as we encode the continuation year

(Thursday) of the paper that is given to us which

is the files or their projects from that

year. After I encode, our engineers

want me to arrange the building

permit and when I'm done I’ll go to

them and listen also to the engineers

who're teaching about engineering

and they give us some knowledge

about engineering.

March 17, I arrived early to the office so I waited

2023 (Friday) for the engineers while I waited. I

drink a cup of coffee so that I have

energy for the possible things that I

will be doing on that day. Ate Janelle,

one of the staff of the engineering

office, ordered me to do the

encoding of files of another year of

the building permit. When I’m done

 doing the things ordered to me I

started arranging the other

blueprints that are not totally

arranged. For the whole day those

things are the things that I’ve done.

March 20, It’s the second week of our work

2023 (Monday) immersion. I wake up early because

it’s Monday and It’s Flag ceremony

and we need to arrive before

7:30am. After the Flag Ceremony we

went to the office and started

working. I started encoding the files

of another year of the building permit

and when I’m done doing my things

the engineer calls me to teach me

how to compute the estimated value

of the building.

March 21, We don’t do a lot of things on that

2023 day because we already finish those

(Tuesday) things in the first week of our work

immersion. The existing things that

were not done are those files of their

projects because it’s from 2014 to

 the present year, which is 2023 and

counting. I started encoding the files

of the year 2018 from January to

December and when I’m done

encoding I started to arrange the

papers of occupancy and other

papers that are not arranged.

March 22, I arrived early to the office and I

2023 waited for the others while waiting to

(Wednesday) write my journal from the first week

of work immersion. When they came

we started working and they ordered

me to arrange the remaining

Blueprints so that they can easily

find the blueprints if some clients ask

for their plans. When I’m done

arranging the blueprints the

engineer shows us some examples

of blueprints to teach us how to get

the area of the building, how to

compute and how it was done.

March 23, One of the staff of the Engineering

2023 office took me along Halayhayin to

(Thursday) measure the land area of the Pathway

that will be built. After we measure we

go back to the office to give the sketch

of the pathway that will be under

construction. One of the Engineers

called me and ordered me to encode

the files. After I encode the files he

teaches me how to encode the prices

of the materials and the materials by

the use of a computer and I encode it

Perfectly.

March 24, Early in the morning were all of the

2023 ( Students OJT are here in the Office

Friday) Engr. Connie ordered us along Kuya

Reagan to Measure the Wet Market

that will be under renovation. So we

went to the wet market and we all

started measuring the wet market

inside and outside And counted how

many posts there were in the wet

market. After we measured the wet

 market we went back to the office to

give the sketch to the municipal

Engineer. In the Afternoon I starterted

encoding files again the remaining files

of their Project from 2014-2023

March 27, It’s the Third Week and the Last week

2023 of Our Work Immersion. It’s monday

(Monday) again so i wake early to not be late and

be there before it hits 7:30 am. After the

Flag Ceremony Kuya Reagan called

me and took me along with him to

measure the Plant box located in the

front of the Municipal Hall. After we

measured, we went back to the office

and gave the sketch after we gave the

sketch. The municipal engineer

ordered me and Kuya Reagan to go to

the hardware store and get the paint

that will be used to paint the plant box

along the national road.

March 28, I arrived early in the morning at the

2023 office and while I’m waiting I watched

(Tuesday) an NBA game. Then when they came I

 Stopped watching. Engr. Reyes took

us along with him and went to the

Kapatalan to get the area of the

Building that will be under renovation

and when we’re done measuring the

Building we went back to the office to

discuss their Plan. Engr. Reyes

ordered Kuya Reagan to go to the

Kapatalan to measure the line of

electricity of the house of their client

and after we measure we straight

ahead to the Llavac to measure the

Sewing business that will renovated

and change place after we measure we

go to the Cultural Center to check the

event place for the upcoming Monthly

meeting of all the Engineers in Laguna

and we went back to the office.

DATE
March 29, Early in the morning Engr. Reyes

2023 ordered us to deliver the cement to

(Wednesday) the Sinarol and check the people

who're working there. After we

visited the workplace we went back

to the office and started working on

the other remaining things. In the

afternoon we patrol the Siniloan to

look for buildings who’re not have a

building permit and after we patrol

the Siniloan we go back to the office.

Before we went home I arranged the

Building Permit.

March 30, On this day, this is the day where all

2023 of the municipal engineers from all

(Thursday) districts of Laguna. We were

assigned to be the registrar for the

event but before the event we all

settled the place, we prepared the

table,chair and other things. We

decorated the event place before all

the Engineers from different places

arrived. It’s a tiring day but it’s a great

 day also because we learned a lot

from the guests that were present

about Engineering.

March 31, This is the Last day of Our Work

2023 (Friday) Immersion and it’s been a great

experience. In the Morning Engr.

Connie took us along with her and

went to the Kapatalan where we

were going to climb the mountain to

visit and measure the water tank that

will be the source of water. After we

visited and measured, we went back

to the office. In the afternoon we

scan and arrange the occupancy

and after that Engr. Reyes Ordered

Kuya Reagan and Kuya Reagan

took me along with him and went to

Pakil to give the Building permit that

will be signed by the Engineer of

Pakil.
 Chapter 3

SELF-ASSESSMENT

In this chapter, the student trainee comprehensively self-assessed the

additional knowledge and skills achieved during the training program.

Achievements

a. Skills Learned/Enforced

The trainee developed several important skills such as communication

skills which are more important when you are interacting with the client.

He also developed a little knowledge about his future course or job.

Learning and enhancing his skills are his main goals which are very

applicable for him in the future.

b. Equipment, Machinery, Testing Apparatus, etc.Handled

The Engr. Staff somehow allowed the student trainee to use some of

their equipment just like measuring tape/meter, computer, and etc. But

you need to be responsible when you’re using their equipment.

 c. Best Experience on the Job

The trainee's best experiences are interacting with the clients and also

by experiencing how engineers do their job.

Faults
a. Causes

Given that there were so many Projects or clients at the time, the trainee

forgot to encode or record the project.

b. Suggested Solutions

The trainee always stays calm at all times especially when interacting

with the clients. He also familiarize how to interact properly with the

clients to gain more knowledge as a trainee.

Chapter 4

RECOMMENDATIONS

In this chapter, the student trainee contains the insights toward how the on-

the-job training incorporated to STEM of PSBC alternative solutions to have a

better company management and advice to the upcoming student-trainees who

will conduct work site training at the same company.

Potential of the Company as a Training Ground

The Engineering office of Siniloan, Laguna is an excellent training facility for all

incoming trainees. The trainee wasn’t treated as a trainee, they treated them as a

co-worker as a non-experience coworker where they guide them and teach them

the right way to do their job. You can see how good their organization is, where

they value you and they can provide you with valuable experience as well as

additional knowledge and skills for working as an Engineer.

Training, facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery are all

accessible and suited for the student trainee’s task. The company’s

equipment, tools, and machinery provide hands-on skills.

The company can assist and treat the student trainee in becoming

acquainted with genuine work cooperation with other personnel.

Advised to Future Student-Trainee

For those becoming a student trainee in the Engr. Office of Siniloan, Laguna, here

are some tips to help you succeed. First you need to know your limit in the office

when you need to use their equipment, ask for permission first and be responsible

using it. Second, you need to be alert and aware, especially when they have a

client. And lastly, don’t make any non acceptable things that will affect your

workmate and also the head of your department.
