1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Field Mockups: Before installing cast plastic fabrications, build mockups for each form of
construction required to verify selections made under sample Submittals and to demonstrate
qualities of materials and execution. Build mockups to comply with the following
requirements, using materials indicated for the completed Work:

1. Build mockups in the location and of the size as directed by Engineer.

2. Notify Engineer seven days in advance of dates and times when mockups will be
constructed.
3. Demonstrate the proposed range of aesthetic effects and workmanship.
4. Obtain Engineer's approval of mockups before starting cast plastic fabrications
construction.
5. Maintain mockups during construction in an undisturbed condition as a standard for
judging the completed Work.
6. Approved mockups may become part of the completed Work if undisturbed at time of
Substantial Completion.

B. Laboratory Test Results: Submit report of test conducted under supervision of a third party
testing agency to demonstrate that the submitted grating will satisfy the performance
requirements specified in this Section. Testing shall be conducted on the specified field
mockup.

1. Test shall be conducted using new Pierec fire fighting and ladder truck used by Civil
Defence Authority in Holy Mehhah.

C. Manufacturer’s Qualifications: Work specified in this Section is to be executed only by an

established manufacturer, specialised in the manufacture of architectural GRP components
and assemblies for at least five (5) years, and who possesses adequate plant, equipment,

installation of projects similar in scope and nature.

D. Installer’s Qualifications: Install gratings by the qualified trained experienced staff

employed by the manufacturer.

1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Field Measurements: Where cast plastic fabrications is indicated to fit to other construction,
verify dimensions of other construction by field measurements before fabrication and
indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with
construction progress to avoid delaying the Work.

1.7 WARRANTY

A. Manufacturer’s Extended Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer

agrees to repair or replace GRP Trench Gratings for Haram Expansoion Piazza that
deteriorate during the specified warranty period. Deterioration of gratings includes but shall
not be limited to the following:

1. Abrasion, cracking or breaking of rods or tearing failures.

2. Surface crazing or spalling.
