c) Drilling Fluids
Place 2 new C cell alkaline battery inside the transmitter. The transmitter will
then be placed and installed inside the drill head housing and calibrated at 3
meter. Make sure the information on the receiver match with the remote
display.
Check all fluids level on the drill unit, top up as necessary. Start the drill unit
engine and lets it warm up for 5 minutes and check for any oil leakage.
Insert the first drill rod into the drill unit with one end to the drill unit gear box
and another end to drill head.
Adjust the drill unit entry angle until it matches with the receiver.
Adjust the engine throttle to a minimum of 1.5 RPM. Open the drilling fluids and
adjust the drilling fluids pressure range from 200 P.S.I to 500 P.S.I.
Rotate and guide the first drill rod into the ground until it reaches the jaw
(clamp) of the machine. Placed the second drill rod. Which the end connects to
the first rod and other end to the gear box.
Throughout the positive locating point, the location and depth of the drill rod
will be determined. The location and depth of the drill rod will be monitored at
every 4.5 meters to 3 meter interval (length of 1 rod). The direction of the drills
is monitored using forward locate points.
While drilling, the drilling fluids are pumped inside the drill rod and drill head.
Drilling will continue the rill head exits at the designated exit pit.
Once the drill head reached the exit pit, it is removed and a smaller diameter
reamer range from 8” to 12” is attached to drill rod and swivel is installed at the
back of reamer. The pre / back reaming process is reversed from exit pit
towards entry pit.
During pre-reaming process, drill rods are extracted from entry point at every
4.5meter / 3 meter. Drill rods are jointed up at exit pit until the reamer reach
entry pit.
Upon completion of the smaller diameter pre reaming process, a bigger size
reamer will be used to enlarge the tunnel. The final size of the tunnel shall be
30% or more than the product pip diameter.
The drilling fluids will again be pumped throughout the pre reaming process.
Upon completion of the pre reaming process the product pip that is attached to
the swivel and attached with the reamer, will then be pulled into the enlarge
tunnel.
Once the reamer, swivel and the product pipe reaches the entry point, the pipe
pulling process will be considered complete.
e) Site Cleaning
Once the pip pulling is completed, the drilling equpement will be washed and
packed for demobilization.
The site area will be cleaned and tidied from any other dumped and unused
material.
2. Methods of statement for pulling cable with winch.

This safety plan shall enhance safe working practices on all jobs and create a healthy and safe w
working environment for all concerned by:-
a. To have tool box meeting at site as a reminder to all construction worker about
safety issue at site and how to overcome it.
b. The working area shall be ensured that are properly barricaded and not left open to
the public which shall endanger their life.
c. The workers and staffs shall wear a suitable safety equipment’s in the working area
depend on their worked and specific scope of work.
d. While working at high level, no personnel shall be allowed to walk on the structures
without securing safety belt to the structure.
e. The debris or leftover from the construction shall be removed to proper dumping
area.
f. All construction shall be terminated if the weather is bad or raining.
