ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON Students asked when they would usually hear these words Ready,
Steady, Go! Students explained that this is the title of Unit 6 and
they asked what they expect the unit to be about. Students asked to
turn to page 69 and to look at the picture and the accompanying
caption. They asked to describe what’s happening in the picture
with a partner and to discuss their reaction to it.
LESSON DELIVERY Activity A(page 70)
1. Students asked to look at the picture of the girl in the top
right-hand corner of page 70 and they asked what she’s
doing. Students asked if they think the girl needs to be first
to do such a sport. They asked to justify their opinions
2. Students asked at random to report to the class if their
partner thinks they are fir or not. Then students asked to
continue working with their partner and discuss what
water sports they have tried of id they prefer to do sports
on land.
Activity B (page 70)
1. Students asked to read the instructions. Students have
about 5 minutes to write down why they think people do
sports. Students asked to work with a partner and to take
it in turns to say the reasons they have come up with. The
answers checked with as a class.
Activity C(page 70)
1. Students asked to read the instructions and check that
they understand what they have to do. Students asked to
read the descriptions 1-5 in the Exam Task, and underline
any reasons they give for wanting to do sport.
POST LESSON Students asked to identify with their talk partner at least one new
word or expression that they have learned in relation to the lesson
topic.
