I went ahead and deleted other regions and go with West South-Central region and I took the
first 30 samples from that list to get my scatterplot. The main states that we are sampling will be
from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. I felt like it was the best choice because it has
severely different states in this region, so I felt it was a great pick for this presentation.

The Pattern
In this graph, there is a clear pattern from the data that I have shown you (X) is the independent
variable while (Y) is the listing price. (X) is showing the square footage of the houses and (Y) is
showing the listing price by the square footage. I feel the most useful variable is (Y) because it
is the listing price but then most people want more square footage for their house because they

feel they are getting the most money out of it. The regression of the scatterplot is Y=105.22x +
56934.With this information if the square feet was 1200 the price would be set at $69,330. If I
have a house with 1800 square feet, the listing price would be at $132,462 so as you see on the
scatterplot where that would match up with what I have shown you today.
