Basic Guidelines
Tony Buzan, who has extensively studied Mind maps, suggests
these following guidelines:
1. Start with the central theme at the centre of the sheet
2. Show associations and use emphasis where necessary
3. Use different coloured pens for coding the mindmap
4. Use symbols, signs and images where appropriate
5. Construct it clearly and neatly so it can be understood later
6. Develop a style of presentation you are comfortable with
Additional guidelines
1. Use emphasis and show associations in your mind map.
2. Keep the mind map clear by using radial hierarchy or
outlines to embrace your branches.
3. Each word/image is best alone and sitting on its own line.
4. The lines become thinner as they radiate out from the
centre
5. Make the lines the same length as the word/image they
support.
