4. M a i n t a i n t h e h y d r a u l i c p r e s s u r e a t
t h e v a l u e i n d i c a t e d i n D-1, and
r e t i g h t e n t h e stay-bolt n u t s with
a tommy b a r . B e f a r e r e l i e v i n g t h e
s y s t e m o f p r e s s u r e , check w i t h a
f e e l e r gauge t h a t t h e n u t s b e a r
a g a i n s t t h e c o n t a c t face.

5. Reconnect t h e h y d r a u l i c t o o l s t o
the pair of stay-bolts first
t i g h t e n e d . T i g h t e n t o 10% below
D-I and check i f t h e n u t i s l o o s e .

I f t h e n u t is -
not loose:

T i g h t e n t h e s t a y - b o l t s t o D-I.

I f t h e nut is loose:

Tighten -a l l stay-bolts once. a g a i n


t o D-1.

6. A f t e r c o m p l e t i n g t h e r e - t i g h t e n i n g
p r o c e d u r e , mount t h e p r o t e c t i v e
caps.

7. The s t a y - b o l t s a r e mounted i n such


a way t h a t , when t h e uppermost
s t a y - b o l t nut is loosened, t h e r e
is a c l e a r a n c e , a s s t a t e d i n 0-2,
between t h e c o n t a c t f a c e o f t h e
lowermost n u t and t h e b e d p l a t e .

8. I n c a s e s where s t a y b o l t s . have
been c o m p l e t e l y r e l e a s e d , o r new
ones a r e tightened f o r the f i r s t
time, t h e t i g h t e n i n g procedure
must be c a r r i e d o u t t w i c e , t o t h e
hydraulic tightening pressure in-
d i c a t e d i n D a t a D-I.
