INCIDENT
Date and time of incident:
December 15, 2022 at around 12:30 in the afternoon
Description of incident:
In the race to get the highest reactions, the handler of the Grade 10 curriculum in Miss SJPHS 2022 resorted to cheating to catapult them above their competitors. The
committee of Miss San Jose Provincial High School 2022 prohibit the candidates and handlers from engaging in dishonest act as per the Guidelines set by the committee,
implicitly. A source once said, relayed to Mr. Godfrey Calbog that the handler along with his assistant, decided to use an auto-react app to raise the number of heart actions of
their candidate. The action is performed at around 12:30, the voting officially closed by 12 nn. To wit, the reaction chosen was “LIKE” and not “HEART”. Hence, the like
reactions were not counted, and it did not reach the cut-off time which is 12 nn.
Ms. Stephanie F. Alob, a Grade 10 adviser, chose the handler who happens to be her former student. Unbeknownst to her, during the pageant at around 12:30, the handler of
their candidate auto liked the picture of their representative which resulted to earning 2.3k reactions. The night after the pageant, Ms. Stephanie F. Alob, noticed that the picture
of their representative gained 2.3k reactions, she then immediately notified her co-teachers and even sent a screenshot of the reactions without checking if it is like or heart
reaction. On Dec. 16, Mr. Godfrey notified his co-teachers via a message sent in their GC that the handler auto liked the picture thus considered an act of cheating. On the same
day, Ms. Stephanie contacted the handler and admitted the act and apologized if such heedless action. On Dec. 18, 2022, Mr. Godfrey Calbog, informed the office via a message,
that the school’s fb account might be banned due to using auto-react application. Mrs. Villarin later informed that an IR must be passed through in order to call for a meeting
with the Pageant Committee and SGC. Mrs. Villarin added that this matter is slightly serious and urgent which needs an immediate action.
The concerned party admitted that they have been doing this practice in all the pageants they are involved in lest
becoming an accessory of the crime if not sanctioned by the said committee.
