Welcome to the TLE-ICT 6 Module 17 on Moviemaking Software to Create a


Multimedia Presentation: Adding Pictures or Video Clips, and Adding Text and
Titles to the Videos.

This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and


reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.
Agustin, in partnership with the City Government of Pasig through its mayor,
Honorable Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto. The writers utilized the standards set by the K
to 12 Curriculum using the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) in
developing this instructional resource.

This learning material hopes to engage the learners in guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs, namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.

EXPECTATIONS

This is your self-instructional module in TLE-ICT 6. All the activities provided


in this lesson will help you to:

• create multimedia presentation using a moviemaking software


• Able to add pictures or video clips, arranged pictures and video clips according to the
sequence and adding text and titles to the videos.

PRE–TEST

Directions: Using the number 1 to 5. Arrange the following sentences


according to its proper steps in making a slide presentation.

_____2. Choose a video/audio from your computer file and it will
automatically be added to your slide.
_____3. To link an image or text to another slide in the document, click on
the said image/text. Then insert hyperlink.
_____4. Add another slide to place the graphics.
_____5. Choose the appropriate slide design. Type a title and subtitle in a
textbox.

Moviemaking Software to Create a Multimedia Presentation:

Note: During discussion, you should have your own computer so that you can apply
immediately the editing procedure. Be sure that the software of your choice is already
installed in your computer and all the video and audio clips is already saved in your
computer.

In this lesson, you will learn a different way to create a multimedia


presentation using a multimedia software. Just like our previous topic, today you
will learn also how to create multimedia presentation using movie making software.
If you wish to became a video editor, a movie director or wishing to have your own
YouTube channel, this is the best lesson you have to learn.
Video editing is the manipulation and arrangement of video shots. Video
editing is used to structure and present all video information, including films and
television shows, video advertisements and video essays. Video editing has been
dramatically democratized in recent years by editing software available for personal
computers. Editing video can be difficult and tedious, so several technologies have
been produced to aid people in this task. Pen based video editing software was
developed in order to give people a more intuitive and fast way to edit video.
There are a lot of free movie making software available in the internet. You will
just to read properly the terms and condition in using that software. Study its
advantages and disadvantages before using such software although this software’s
are almost the same with its special features.
Today we will teach you the basic in
creating multimedia presentation using a
movie making software called “ Wondershare
Filmora.
Wondershare Filmora define as simply
elegant video editing software geared toward
beginner, novice and casual users. The main
window of the interface provides complete
control over your video project. You can edit
your project on a timeline.

Parts of a Movie Maker Interface

The Movie Maker user interface is divided into three main areas: the menu
bar and toolbar, the panes, and the storyboard and timeline as shown in figure 1.
This section covers:

• The Menu Bar and Toolbar. Provides information about using the menu
commands and the toolbar to perform tasks in Windows Movie Maker.
• The Panes. Provides information about using the Collections pane to view your
collections, and about using the Movie Tasks pane to perform common tasks
when editing a project and making a movie.
• The Storyboard and Timeline. Provides information about using the
storyboard or timeline to work with clips in the current project.
Steps in Creating Multimedia Presentation Using a Movie
Making Software
Upon opening the software for the first time. From here, you'll be able to create
a multimedia presentation.

A. Opening the Movie Making Software


Step 1: Launch the movie making software. Familiarize yourself with
the movie creator interface.

Step 2: Click on each Menu and Tool Bar to find out the features of the
movie maker software.

B. Importing the pictures, video clips and music

Step 3: Add pictures or videos to the storyboard by clicking Add Videos


and Photos in the Panes as shown in figure 2.

C. Arrange Your Clips

Step 4: Arrange the pictures/video in the timeline or storyboard


according to the sequence you want them to appear in the video. Click
and drag the pictures or video clips to their appropriate positions as
shown in figure 3.

Step 5. You may click Play in the preview as shown in the figure
4.

D. Adding Text/Titles

Titles are used to tell your audience something that they can’t get any other
way; for example, the name of a person speaking.

Step 6: Add text to the video by clicking any of the Titles as shown in
figure 5 and 6.

Step 7: Drag the titles above the clip in the storyboard. Click the cursor in the
pane and start writing the desired Text or Titles as shown in figure 6.

E. Saving Video File

Step 8: Click the FILE in the toolbar and choose SAVE PROJECT as shown in
figure 7.

Step 9. Choose where to save it in your computer, e.g. Documents, and write the
File Name of your Video Project as shown in figure 8.

2. Choose as song or music that is memorable or meaningful to you.
3. Using any Movie Making Software, make a one minute video about
your Family.
4. Add text or titles in every clip of your video.
