Assessment Title Deck Maintenance


• De-rust and prepare a steel surface for painting
Assessment Outcome • Apply a paint to a cleaned steel surface safely
• Use a manual grease gun in lubricating deck equipment

• Personal protective equipment – overalls, safety helmet, safety shoes,
gloves, safety googles

• Hand scrapper (angular)
• Long handle scrapper
• Manual grease gun
• Grease
• Equipment for applying grease

You are going to carry out deck maintenance in de-rusting of steel surface,
