Assessment Task You are going rig and unrig bosun’s chair, staging, and pilot ladder.

1. Conduct briefing.
2. Facilitate pairing and grouping of students for the performance rigging
and unrigging of staging and pilot ladder.
Assessor’s Action 3. For Bosun chair’s assessment, cadets will be grouped according to the
number of bosun chair. (There shall be 4 students in each group. 1
student in excess from the required number of members in a group shall
perform alone. A total of 25 cadets).
4. For staging assessment, divide the cadets into 6 groups (plus 1 will

perform alone with the assistance from his classmate. A total of 25

5. For pilot ladder assessment, divide the cadets into 6 groups (plus 1 will
perform alone with the assistance from his classmate. A total of 25

6. Monitor and check the progress of the student in their performance.
7. Conduct debriefing.
1. Individually, rig and unrig a bosun’s chair. (4 chairs)

• Gantline is secured to the bosun’s chair using
double sheet bend; and
Tests must be made of the rigged bosun’s chair before
using.
6. Raise and secure the bosun’s chair so that the feet is
clear from the deck
7. Free the securing and lower to the deck
8. Unrig and stow the bosun’s chair so that damage is
prevented, and it does not poise hazard
