In the world we live in today, computers have become an important aspect in


our lives, we can find computers even in the basic and single purpose forms in any
household today. Computers have revolutionized the society and how it functions,
in terms of communication and interaction with other people, we have never been
more connected to each other in the past than we are today. To start with what
really is a computer.
Computer systems have become an indispensable component of daily life,
with a substantial impact on modern civilization. A computer system is made up of
carefully selected hardware components that perform well together and software
components or programs that run on the computer. It consists of a collection of
interconnected devices that input, output, process, and store data and information.
In our households we might not notice it but our appliances are also computers
specifically “single purpose computers” these ranges from our television,
refrigerator, microwave oven, etc.
The society we live in today is greatly influenced by computer systems, we
can all agree that messaging and calling people from around is as easy as pressing
a button with just the help of the Internet. Our society have become very reliant on
computer system, being one of its functions in communication, computer system is
also used in advertisements, businesses, and even online selling. With the ease
computer systems almost all of this functions can be found with just a small
smartphone, and easily with just a press of a button.
As based on the article I read, computer systems are a powerful tool that
helped shaped the society we live in. Its functions are powerful as it is also
compact, such as a smartphone which can have almost all the functions we need to
live. It has many functions that are mentioned in the article such as digital tools,
maps, camera, even healthcare services and educational applications that aids
students. The system is also ensured and safe as it also has online banking, where
security and convenience is the sole purpose. In disaster management and weather
announcements, computer systems have become an important part of our society.
Lastly the most important function, which is communication, messaging other
people today is very easy and with the ease of ultra-fast speed of transmission.
In professional careers in our society, computers have also affected greatly.
For example, engineers, architects, designers, and filmmakers use computers to
design things. Teachers, researchers, and writers use computer for research and
word processing. Technology has advanced so remarkably that computer systems
are being used by every industry to improve efficiency and to stay ahead of their
competitors. Businesses today have a wide range of uses for computers. Computers
are very useful in the education field and can improve student performance in
learning. Even distance learning is made possible through internet, and video-
based classes.
In conclusion, computer systems have become not just a part but the very
heart itself of modern society. It has shaped and revolutionized the very essence of
society and all of us who are a part of it. Without computers we are not what we
are today.
