    OBJETIVO DEL TRABAJO

    Demostrar la competencia comunicativa mediante una exposición

    Identificar y explicar en un video a una especie en peligro de extinción en el Perú

    PLANTEAMIENTO DEL TRABAJO

    Teniendo en cuenta el video de National Geograplich de la Unidad 11, ubicado en el E-book,


    los alumnos trabajaran en grupos (máximo 3) para planificar un video similar acerca de un
    animal en peligro de extinción del Perú.

    Ideas Actividades
    WHAT ANIMAL SHALL WE TALK ABOUT? Today we will talk about the Spectacled
    Bear, which is one of the 8 species of bears
    that exist in the world and this is the only
    one found in South America.

    These bears mostly live alone, they meet as


    a couple in times of reproduction or to feed

    WHAT ARE THEIR CHARACTERISTICS? Their fur is usually black, but some bears
    have a brown hue.

    They weigh between 70 and 175 kg and


    measure up to 2 meters (standing)

    It presents yellowish marks on the neck,


    chest and around the eyes, in the form of
    glasses, hence the name

    WHAT DOES IT FEED ON?


    Their diet is 90% fruits, roots, bark, suckers
    and leaves and the other 10% are fungi,
    cacti, insects, animals.

    Its habitat is mainly in the humid forests of


    WHAT IS YOUR HABITAT? the Andes, although today it is rare to find
    one.

    Can aslo live in:


    Dry forests
    Desert scrub
    Paramo
    The puna
    WHAT ACTIONS DOES THE SPECTACLED The spectacled bear is a key species for the
    BEAR PERFORM? regeneration of forests in Peru

    This beautiful animal acts as a pollinator


    since it transports pollen in its abundant fur.

    Also when feeding on fruits and vegetables,


    it transports seeds within its digestive
    system, which when defecating, germinate
    to generate vegetation and prevent forests
    from dying.

    BECAUSE IT IS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION? The rupture and loss of their habitat forces
    them to move to places inhabited by
    humans, this is the main threat, since they
    are killed for destroying crops and for killing
    cattle from nearby farms

    Also due to deforestation and expansion of


    economic activities that cause the loss of
    forests and places where these animals can
    live.

    As well as illegal capture and poaching for


    the commercialization of their body parts
    such as: their meat, skin and fat.

    HOW CAN WE PROTECT THIS ANIMAL AND Put reserves where these animals are more
    ITS HABITAT? often, so that they are no longer preyed
    upon by hunters

    End the commercialization of parts of the


    spectacled bear and other animals around
    the world

    And no less important, fence the crops, so


    these animals cannot enter and thus do not
    cause their death for being hated by
    destroying the crops
