Rules
The teacher will show a short dialogue and will ask students to read the lines with emotions. Boys will read

E. Developing mastery
The learners will be grouped into five. Each group will be given a worksheet about direct and indirect
speech. These exercises include: constructing sentences by answering different questions, and applying
the rules in changing direct to indirect speech.
Group 1: The students shall answer questions related to what they feel related to the movie Inside-out.
They have to use direct speech and change it to indirect speech.
Group 2: Rewrite the quotes from the story using reported speech
Group 3: The student shall list the things they like about themselves using direct speech and change it
to direct speech
Group 4: The students shall make a story using the given worksheet. The rules in changing direct to
indirect speech shall be applied.
Group 5: The students shall answer set of questions and they have to apply the rules in changing
direct and indirect speech.
The learners will define direct and reported speech with their own words. The teacher will ask the rules
in changing direct to indirect speech.
I. Evaluating learning
The class will have a 10-item quiz identifying indirect and reported speeches. They have to change
Direct Speech to Reported Speech or change Reported speech to Direct Speech.
