Your interview must have a lot of details for the reader to understand the yesteryears clearly. (To be done in the
form of dialogue writing)
2. Note down different words and phrases that strike your mind when you watch an early sunrise during summers
e.g. immense pleasure, world dipped in the golden hue, birds chirping and flapping their wings, tranquil
atmosphere, etc. Using the words and phrases jotted down by you weave a story in about 200-220 words.
3. Click ten random pictures of day-to-day life scenes and caption them creatively.

MATHS

1. Mathematical puzzles make up an integral part of recreational mathematics.

Creative thinking (Thinking outside the box) often helps to find the solution.
Dear students, there are various kinds of mathematical puzzles. Sudoku, Tangram, Numpuz puzzle etc. are a
few to name.
Tangram:

The Tangram is a dissection puzzle consists of seven flat polygons put together to form a shape. Over 6500
different shapes can be formed using Tangram.
Try your hand in forming a few of them.
Sudoku :
Sudoku is a logic-based puzzle which the objective is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, each
row, and each of the nine 3×3 subgrids contains all of the digits from 1 to 9.
Numpuz:

Numpuz is a classic number game puzzle in which the number tiles are moved to put the numbers in order.
 Do some brainstorming and create 10 mathematical puzzles during summer break. Write the details on
A4 sheets.

2. Art Integrated Project:

Symmetrical Objects: ANY OBJECT OR SHAPE WHICH CAN BE CUT IN TWO EQUAL HALVES IN
SUCH A WAY THAT BOTH THE PARTS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME IS CALLED SYMMETRICAL
AND THE LINE WHICH DIVIDES THE SHAPE IN TWO EQUAL HALVES IS CALLED THE LINE OF
SYMMETRY. A SHAPE CAN HAVE MANY LINES OF SYMMETRY

Following are the examples of Symmetrical objects:

Symmetrical figures in nature :

Symmetry in paper decoration:

Dear students, Nature loves symmetry. Observe the living and non-living natural things around you.
 Enlist five such symmetrical objects, draw them on a squared sheet of paper and mark their lines of
symmetry.
Man-made things are also based on the concept of Symmetry. E.g. a table, a book, a door, a laptop, a plate etc.
Even huge buildings are symmetrical.
 Name five historical monuments or famous structures which you find symmetrical. Write about their
number of lines of symmetry.
Methodology to draw symmetrical figures: Observe the figure and try to find out its line of symmetry
(horizontal, vertical or slanting).
Draw the line of symmetry and then complete both the halves of the figure on either side of line.

SCIENCE
Make a power point presentation using interdisciplinary approach on the Chapter: Crop Production and Management.
The following hints can be useful:

o Geography: You can link this chapter with Geography by searching the staple crops of five different states and
then plotting them on the map.
o History: You can explore the history of agriculture. Research on how it started? What did the early men used to
eat?
o English: A short paragraph/article on the need to improving agricultural yield in India or any other related topic
can be included.
o Hindi: Writing/Reciting/Curating a poem on related topics- farmers, crops etc can be incorporated.
o Maths: Making a pie chart showing percentage of various crops grown in our state Punjab.
o Art integration: A picture collage/chart showing the colourful celebration of Baisakhi in Punjab.
o General Awareness: Finding what are the different kinds of harvest festivals in the country- what are they called-
how are they celebrated?
o Music: A related song can be incorporated eg. “Rabba Rabba Mih Varsa, Saadi Kothi Daane Pa”

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Be creative and connect your learnings across subjects. You can also discuss
the toxic impact of using fertilizers on land and water and the adverse effect of burning crop residue. Sky is the limit,
don’t forget to have fun!

Happy Vacation and Happy Learning  Stay Home and Stay Safe!
