FINAL PROJECT AND PRESENTATION

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES


1. Define the functions of marketing and the marketing process.
2. Discuss the 4 P’s of the marketing mix: price, place, product, and promotion.
3. Analyze the differences between available market segments and marketing channels
4. Interpret the differences between retail and wholesale promotional strategies
5. Evaluate the marketing strategies of organizations.

A. WRITTEN REPORT [15 marks]

For your final marketing project and presentation, you and your team members are asked to pick
up any company in UAE. You can make up your own new product/service or use an existing one
from the chosen company. If you use an existing one, you may want to add something that
makes it unique. You will focus on identifying a target market (consumer or business) whose
needs are not currently being met, not being met satisfactorily or even recognized. You should
also think about competitive offerings, and how your offering will be communicated and
delivered.

You must submit a written report of 2500 - 3000 words.

You may follow the sample marketing plan outline below.

creating your new product)

4. Situation Analysis ( SWOT- factors affecting both your company as a whole and at the

5. STP Analysis- Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning (New product)

6. 4Ps- Marketing Mix Strategies (Product, Price, Place and Promotion of the new product)

7. Implementation Plan (for your new product)

8. Evaluation and Control (for your new product)

9. Conclusion

B. PRESENTATION [10 marks]


 15-20 slides maximum which include all steps of report with the main key learnings.
 You will be assessed based on your understanding of the topic you are presenting,
creativity and graphics, thorough response to questions by instructor.
 Duration of the presentation is 10-15 minutes
 Each student must participate in the presentation.

Presentations: Nov. 28th and 30th , 2022

Follow the specifications below to meet the document and presentation requirements:

 Students must form groups of 5 and decide on a company that they want to focus on.
 Make sure you touch on all the elements mentioned in the Marketing Plan Outline to
fetch maximum marks.
 Cite at least two research papers of which you provide a thorough analysis that
addresses this type of marketing practice and its relevance to the chosen company.

 Provide a detailed marketing plan and touch all the points that make their product
relevant to the success in the region.
 Please approach the project with a “real world – manager’s” mentality. How would you
do it if you were faced with this task in the real world? How would you present it? What
would you include? There are many examples that you can use as guidance on the
Internet. There is no reason to ask how you should do the project.
 Supporting information you may want to include (may be integrated within text or
included as appendices): mock-ups of packaging/product, advertising, promotions, any
helpful tables, charts, graphs, etc. You do not have to include all of these things – only
what you feel is important to your plan.
 All sources must be referenced using APA style. Format your report using APA style
formatting.
 The report should be based on different sources of online databases and demonstrate your
own understanding of the readings and class discussions.
 Insert bibliography at the end of the report.
