80 mm length, between bearings. It spins about the axle at 800 RPM anticlockwise when viewed
from the right hand side bearing. The axle precesses about a vertical axis at 75 rpm in an
anticlockwise direction when viewed from above. Determine the resultant reaction at each bearing
due to the mass and the gyroscopic effect.
15. A disc weighing 50 N and of diameter 300 mm is mounted on one end of arm of length 600 mm.
The disc spins at 300 rpm anticlockwise looking from the universal bearing. The outer end of the

disk about vertical axis so that the arm and spinning axis remains horizontal. Take the radius of
gyration as 75 mm about the spinning axis.

16. A uniform disc of diameter 125 mm and mass of 12 Kg is mounted on one end on a frame such
that a disc rotates at uniform speed of 15000 rpm with its axis horizontal. The other end of
horizontal frame is pivoted to a vertical spindle which is free to turn in bearings. The frame is free
