Using your initiative means starting things on your own and taking control of your own destiny. It relates to initiating and starting things, which involves pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. People with initiative drive themselves, while those lacking initiative may become victims of their own inaction. It is important to practice speaking up and proposing ideas so that flaws can be addressed before problems occur, and so that all participants feel comfortable sharing thoughts.

Using your initiative is all about getting things started on your own initiative, thus the term

"initiative" is related to the word’s "initiate" and "start,". which is an excellent way to
remember what it means. This is a rare instance of a good, logical moral judgment that many
people have seen and experienced. People with initiative control their own destiny and have
the drive to push yourself beyond their comfort zones. People lacking in initiative frequently
become the victims of their own activities. For instance, when it comes to group activities,
participants heavily depend on the leader or other participants to take care of our needs for
compliance with the activity, and they just wait to be informed of what needs to be done,
which always happens, especially to me. While performing tasks like paper work or group
reporting, leaders or other group members may observe poor judgments being made that could
have disastrous consequences but lack the courage to speak up and point out the flaws before
the undesirable event occurs. Practice proposing ideas and speaking up so that everyone feels
at ease sharing their thoughts in order to avoid this kind of situation.
