PASSIVE VOICE

PARA PODER PASAR UNA ORACION DE VOZ ACTIVA A VOZ PASIVA SIEMPRE VAMOS A NECESITAR UN SUJETO, UN
VERBO Y UN OBJETO.

ACTIVE VOICE PASSIVE VOICE

Subject Agent
Verb BE (tenses) + Past participle
Object Subject

(quien REALIZA la acción) (quien RECIBE la acción)

SUBJECT + VERB + OBJECT

mismo tiempo

OBJECT + BE + PAST PARTICIPLE + BY SUBJECT

Tom builds houses

Houses are built by Tom.

Build está en present simple, por lo tanto el verb to be ira en presente simple y luego pondremos
el participio (3 columna) del verbo.

Utilizaremos Passive voice cuando:

1) queremos dar más importancia a la acción y no a quien la ha realizado.
The street WILL BE repaired (unimportant agent) → La calle sera reparada.
2) no sabemos quién ha realizado la acción.
My bike WAS stolen (unknown agent) → Mi bicicleta fue robada.
3) quien realizo la acción es obvio.
He WAS arrested (obvious agent, the police) → El fue arrestado.
4) hablamos de hechos científicos.
The chemical IS placed in a test tube. → El quimico es puesto en un tubo de ensayo.
5) en escritura formal.
The homework WILL BE finished next month. → La tarea estará terminada el mes que viene.
