Preparatory Activities Ask: What is the difference between reusing and recycling? Possible answer: To recycle means to create a new product out of a material that has already served its purpose. Recycling is different from reusing in a way that recycling produces a new material out of discarded ones while reusing uses the same material over and over again.
B. Motivation Show a picture of torn clothes
Ask: Have you experienced to wear a torn blouse or t-shirt? Can you still fix it? Possible Answer: Answer may vary Why do we mend torn clothes? Possible Answer: To extend the life of our clothes. C. Activity A. Group the pupils into five. B. Recall the norms to be followed in performing the activity. C. Every group will be given an envelope. (See Attachment A) D. Analysis 1. Possible Answer: Sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric, covering up starches on furniture, replacing the broken parts of the appliances etc. ● What other materials can be repaired? Possible Answer: Repairable materials include furniture, appliances, and clothes ● Why do we need to repair things? Possible answer: Fixing defective products enables you to reuse them thus saving you from buying new ones and reducing waste. 2. Give feedback on the results of the activity. 3.
