2.01 Joint Compounds

A. General: Compounds abutting each other are to be compatible.

B. Horizontal Joints: Joint compound for joints in horizontal or nearly

horizontal surfaces conform to ASTM C 920, Type S or M, Grade
P, Class 25. Use T (traffic sealant) in pedestrian and vehicular
traffic areas, and Use NT (non-traffic) sealant in non-vehicular
areas.

1. Sidewalks: Joints transverse to the line of work and at

regular intervals not exceeding 1.5 m apart, with joints

After preliminary trowelling, part the concrete to a depth of
4 cm with a straight edge to create a division in the course

mortar. Make the division in order to locate the weakened
plane for final joint finishing with a jointer tool having a
