• Songdo also features a massive seaside park outfitted with self-sustaining irrigation
systems to provide ample public space.
• At the level of individual residents, trash tubes take garbage away to a central plant
where it is automatically sorted into recyclables and waste to be burned
• the villas and surrounding landscapes have been planned in the shape of a “Dragon
village” as a central feature of this site. Each villa has been designed in a sustainable
way that exploits solar energy.

governance, procurement, and services, to improve quality, suitability, and cost
• Creating partnerships: forming organisational groupings to achieve economic and social

• Developing communities: developing the social and economic capabilities and wealth of local

5- Smart economic
• Canal Walk is centrally located along a stretch of man-made canal running through the heart of Songdo
IBD. It runs 2625 feet within blocks D1–D4, each containing five story glass buildings. The first two
stories include shops such as bookstores, general stores, fitness clubs, and restaurants. The top three
stories contain 445 office units. Pedestrian movement is also encouraged by protecting people from traffic
and noise.
• Songdo Central Park
• The U-life business model also has the characteristic to be a value -generating model. It is not focused
only on technological features but also practicable business model. Moreover, a part of the income
generated will be invested into community projects that will serve the inhabitants of Songdo, containing:
• - U-business, U-finance, U-transportation
• The main idea of a Free Economic Zone (FEZ) is to provide companies with the best environment for
worldwide business activities. This zone will also involve quality schools, hospitals, and transportation
and tourism services. Eventually, FEZs are planned to offer world-class cities based on global standards
