GENERAL RULES

● All students from an accredited university / college must bring


their college ID card.
● All external participants must bring a proof of identity.
● Both on-spot and online registrations are available.
● For online registrations visit https://www.tiarasjec.in/
● Decision of the judges will be final and binding to all.
● Organizers reserve the right to stop any event in case of vulgarity
and indecency.

TECHNICAL EVENTS

1) SUPER OFFROAD

No roads? No problem! We’ve got a monster buggy which can tackle the
roughest and toughest of terrains effortlessly. SUPER OFFROAD lets you
experience the student designed and built ATV, the TURTLE VI by Team
SJEC Racing known for its raging torque, a record-breaking acceleration,
and a rugged suspension. That’s not all! Complete the entire course of
terrain with the least amount of time and you will be declared as winner.

ABOUT EVENT

● You will drive a single-seater buggy on a specially designed


racetrack in the college grounds.
● The vehicle is powered by a 305cc 10HP engine and has an
automatic transmission with only throttle and brake pedal
equipped with a safety cage.
● The event is a time-attack sprint race. A racetrack will be provided
with curves and straight lines covered with cones.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Event is open for both boys and girls and the participants MUST
have a valid driver’s license.
● There is no restriction on the driving speed, but a penalty of +5
seconds will be added in case the car touches the cones.
● All participants must compulsorily wear the safety gears provided
by the volunteers.

JUDGING CRITERIA

The driver finishing the given track in the least amount of time will be
considered as the winner.

2) WEB ALLY

Web Ally is a high-energy, 6-hour long web designing competition that


challenges participants to showcase their creativity and technical skills.
The competition is open to all web designers, from amateurs to
professionals, and provides an opportunity to showcase their talent in a
highly competitive and fast-paced environment. Participants are given a
set of guidelines and a theme to work with, and are expected to design
and develop a functional website within the allotted time. Contestants
will be judged on their knowledge and creativity on web development,
as well as web design.

GENERAL RULES

● Team size: 2 members


● No. of Rounds: 2
● Participants are required to bring their own devices (Wi-Fi and
power will be provided).
● Team Requirements:
o All the team members must be full-time students at an
accredited University / College / School.
o There are no restrictions on the number of teams from the
same Institute.
o Only students from the same college can form a team
o An individual cannot be a member of more than one team.
● Judges’ decision will be final.

ROUND DESCRIPTION

● Round 1 - Preliminary Round


o A brief quiz based on web development.
o MCQs and short textual questions.
o Qualified teams will progress to the next round.

3) SURVIVAL

three waves of increasingly difficult challenges, you'll have the chance to

place in the subsequent rounds.
● Round 3 - Code Clash
o This is it! Use your logical skills to solve coding questions in
this final showdown.

● Round 1: Judging criteria will be based on time.


● Round 2: The first 5 teams on the leaderboard will be qualified to
the next round.
● Round 3: Teams which finish first shall be the winners.

4) EASE OF FLOW

Ease of flow is a technical event in which each team will be given a set of
pipes and joints using which the participants need to carry water from
the source to the destination, through a set of obstructions.

GENERAL RULES

● Team size: 3 members


● No. of rounds: 1 (6 minutes to complete the task)
● Judges and organizers' decisions shall be final.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● The team should take the water from a given source to destination
with the help of PVC pipes and joints, through a set of obstructions
(2 ½ cubic feet).
● Out of the three destinations, participants will be given a
destination based on the slots picked.
● The pipes need to pass along two sides of at least two cubes.
● Use of materials other than the provided pipe connections are not
entertained.
● Each participant will get a maximum time of 6 minutes to
complete the event.
● Participants should report 15 minutes prior to the start of the
event.
● Screening round will be present if the number of teams exceeds 16.

JUDGING CRITERIA

● Minimum time used for fixing the pipes.


● Minimum time taken by the water to fill the destination (Up to
marked level).

5) RC EXTREME

Everyone in life is looking for a certain rush. Is racing where you get
yours? Find out in an adrenaline filled RC racing event that will take your
breath away!

ABOUT EVENT

● Design a wired or wireless bot within specified dimensions.


● Manual operation.
● Team that takes the least time to complete a lap of the track wins.

GENERAL RULES

● All the team members must be full-time students at an accredited


University/College/School.
● There are no restrictions on the number of teams from the same
Institute.
● The team should contain 2-4 members in total.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Participants are only allowed to use self-made RC vehicles.


● Only students from the same college can form a team.
● Individual cannot be a member of more than one team.
● Robots cannot be shared by two or more teams.
● Only one run on track for each team.
● Judge’s decision will be final.

BOT SPECIFICATIONS

● Dimensions of the bot should not exceed the box size of 30*30*30
cm (L*B*H).

● Weight of the bot should be under 3 kg with +5% tolerance incl.
battery if powered on board.
● Bot can be powered on board or off board.
● Battery voltage should not exceed 12v.

6) TAKE-OFF

Were you among the children who enjoyed watching Sunio in


Doraemon display his RC planes? Didn't you also wish for a plane like
that so you could travel everywhere? If that's the case, Takeoff is giving
you the chance to realize a desire from your youth by giving you a stage
to demonstrate your enthusiasm for creating an RC plane and putting it
to the test to see if it can also be used in a practical manner!!

PROBLEM STATEMENT

A team must develop, build and demonstrate a fixed-wing aircraft


system that meets the requirements of the following rounds.

GENERAL RULES

● Any RC plane enthusiast is welcome to take part.


● There are no restrictions on the number of teams from the same
Institute.
● The team should contain 2-5 members in total.
● The event is divided into three rounds
o Round 1 - Design Report
o Round 2 - Acrobatics and Landing
o Round 3 - Payload Dropping

ROUND DESCRIPTION

● Round 1 - Design Report


o Deadline for Submission: 20 March 2023
o A design report for the aircraft that is designed for
maneuverability and dropping payloads must be submitted
online and meet the requirements listed below:
1. The wingspan should not exceed 150 cm.

2. Propeller length should not exceed 12 inches.
3. Only single-motor aircraft are permitted.
4. Metal propellers are not allowed.
5. Using Landing gears in the Aircraft model is optional.
The use of launching mechanisms is prohibited. The
aircraft should be hand launched or can take off via
landing gear wheel assembly.
6. Use of gyroscopes (gyros) and programming assistance
in receivers is prohibited.
o Rules for Abstract Submission:
▪ An abstract of the idea needs to be mailed to
sjec.aeroclub@gmail.com by 20th March 2023.
▪ The file should be in PDF format only and the filename
should be according to the following convention:
ABSTRACT_TAKEOFF_Collegename.PDF(e.g.
ABSTRACT_TAKEOFF_SJEC.PDF)
o Points will be rewarded based on the Abstract report

● Round 2 - Acrobatics and Landing


o Takeoff can be done either by using the runway or by hands.
o The aircraft must take off, execute aerobatics(bonus points),
and land in the designated area. The landing area will
determine the points.

● Round 3 – Payload Dropping


o The drop should be performed after a minimum flight time
of 30 seconds after take-off.
o Payloads in the aircraft should be released in a single drop.
The payloads should fall as independent objects and should
not be joined together as one bigger payload (sticking them

together or dropping a box with multiple payloads in it etc.
are not allowed).
o A payload weighing 150 grams and of dimensions 5x5x5 mm
will be provided which has to be dropped in a Circular area
with radius 5m.
o Entire payload should be released using only one channel in
the transmitter.

CONTEST RULES

● Every team would be given two attempts in the Qualifier round


and main round each. The best score from both attempts will be
considered as a score for each round.
● Participants need to be prepared in time and launch without delay
after entering the takeoff zone.
● Same aircraft should be used in all three rounds and it should be
the same one as in the abstract. In case of damages during the
competition, teams can repair the same aircraft but are not
allowed to use a replacement. The repaired aircraft should be
ready in time for the turn.
● If the plane goes to the no-fly zone then that flight attempt would
not be considered.
● Decisions in the above rounds, format, rules & regulations are
liable to change as best suited to the organizing team.
● Changes in rules, if any will be informed earlier.
● The decision of organizers will be final and binding on all.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● The use of 2.4 GHz radio is required for all aircraft competing in the
competition. If the participants want to use any other frequency,
they will have to inform the organizers in advance.
● Receivers installed in the aircraft must be in 'receiver mode only'.

● All the systems (Servos, motor, etc.) will be checked by organizers
for functionality before the competition. If found not working,
teams will be dismissed from the competition.
● Pilot can position himself at any point in the arena to fly the
aircraft during the rounds.
● Teams are suggested to carry additional components (motors,
batteries, propellers etc.) as needed to avoid last minute surprises
at the venue. You will lose time/ attempt if you are not ready at the
time of your turn.
● Metal propellers are not allowed
● The models can have powered take-off with a landing gear or can
be launched manually by a person standing at ground level
● A team member cannot be a part of more than one team

7) BOT SOCCER

Two Bots from different teams compete against each other on the arena
to score goals and prevent the opponent from scoring a goal.

GENERAL RULES

● Team size: 2-4 members.


● Judges and organizers’ decisions shall be final.

BOT SPECIFICATION

● The following size limitations apply for each robot, Width: 30cm
Length: 30cm, Height: 20cm
● The robot should weigh within 5kg.
● 10% tolerance will be provided on both dimensions and weight,
exceeding this would be leading for disqualification.
● The robot can be wired or wireless.
● The Robot must not be made from Lego parts or any ready-made
assembly kits.
● Participants are allowed to use their own creativity for designing
the bot.
● Any kind of hitting mechanism cannot be used.
● The length of the wire should be of minimum 5m for wired bots.
● Voltage between 2 points must not exceed 12.5V.
● AC supply will be provided

ARENA SPECIFICATION

● Arena will be of 12*8 feet in dimensions

CONTEST RULES

● Each game shall have 2 halves, each half lasting for two minutes.

● The bots should not remain immobile for more than 10 seconds.
● Pushing the opponent’s bot into the goal post is allowed.
● The name of the person who is controlling the bot should be
announced before the start of the game. The controller cannot be
changed during the game.
● One member should hold the wires of the bot during the game.
The wires should remain slack throughout the game.
● Technical time out of 2min will be given in the whole match.
Extension of technical timeout for 30 seconds, will lead to
reduction of 2 points.

JUDGING CRITERIA

● On scoring a goal, the team will be awarded with 4 points.


● One point will be deducted for damaging the opponent’s bot
intentionally.
● The bots are not allowed to enter its own goal post. Entering the
goal post will result in one warning followed by deduction of one
point.
● The team which gets the highest points will be the winner of the
game.
● All decisions about scoring, game play and timing made by the
coordinators and judges are final.
● In case of a tie, extra one minute of time is provided for a golden
goal. i.e., whoever scores a goal will be declared the winner.

8) SHARK TANK

Can you see the radio waves striking your satellite dish? No, you can’t.
They are colorless. Everything in the entire universe is colorless. Now,
what few people realize is that colorless also means no black and white.
No brightness or darkness. They only exist within the mind generated
visual representation of reality which we perceive so Gear up!! SHARK
TANK is here to check your imagination levels.

GENERAL RULES

● Team size: 2 Members.


● Plagiarized content found in any video will lead to immediate
disqualification.
● Decision of the judges will be final in all regards.

ROUND DESCRIPTION

● Round 1
o A written test based on logos and taglines.
o The time limit to solve is 30 minutes.
o Top teams will qualify to the next round.
● Round 2
o The qualified teams will have to create an advertisement
video of a particular technical product.
o The time limit for the video is 3 minutes.
o A period of 1 day will be given to prepare the video.
o There is no restriction on the number of participants in the
video.
o Participants should be present in the video.

● Round 3
o This round is the presentation round and the final round of
the competition where the top teams will be presenting
their products in front of the “SHARKS”.
o Product should be the same which is used in the second
round.
o Time limit to present is 5 minutes in which 2 minutes for
presentation and 3 minutes for the judges.

9) ONE PIECE

One Piece is a technical event in which each team has to build a boat
that can sustain the weight without sinking in the water.

So, pirates… build a boat to survive the grand line and find the ONE
PIECE.

GENERAL RULES

● No. of participants in a team: 3 – 4 members


● Each team will be provided with a set of materials to build their
boat.

INSTRUCTIONS

● Each team will be provided with a set of materials to build their


boat. They can use any combination of the provided materials to
construct their boat.
● The dimensions for building a boat will be given on spot.
● The goal of the challenge is to design and build a boat that can
sustain the weight without sinking in the water tank.
● The time allotted for each team will be 25 minutes. Once time is
up, players must stop building and set their boats aside.
● Players will take turns testing their boats in the water. The boat
must be able to carry the given weight.
● The team whose boat sustained the most weight wins the
challenge.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Boats cannot be modified after the testing phase begins.


● Boats must be able to float on their own without being held or
supported.

● Players must follow all safety guidelines when building and testing
their boats.

10) LINE FOLLOWER

A competition played by one or two teams at a time, with each team


consisting of one Wireless Bot. Build a bot capable of racing on a track
following the path of the arena in the shortest period of time.

GENERAL RULES

● All the team members must be full-time students at an accredited


University/College/School.
● There are no restrictions on the number of teams from the same
Institute.
● The team should contain 3-5 members in total.
● The competition will consist of 3 rounds.

ROUND DESCRIPTION

● Each round will have a different map which will be disclosed on


the day of the event.
● Round specific rules will be explained just before the start of that
particular round.
● All the rounds will have black line/trajectory on white arena.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● One robot cannot be shared by two or more teams, moreover the


robot cannot be ready-made.
● Once a robot has crossed the start line it must remain fully
autonomous, else the team will be disqualified.
● The width of the trajectory of the arena is approximately 3 cm.
● Participants should arrange their own batteries, and power supply
must be on board.
● The robot must remain intact until results are announced.

● The verdict of the judges is considered final and no arguments will
be entertained.

11) HYDRO CANNON

Get a feel for what it's like to launch a rocket using nothing but only
compressed water. What are water rockets? Well, it's in the name. Now,
do not take it for a mere task, for it is easy to build one, but really hard to
make the most efficient water rocket that can win you the prize. How
hard could that be? It isn't some rocket science, or is it? Well why don't
you give it a try and find out.

GENERAL RULES

● Team members cannot exceed more than 4.


● Team members should be of the same institution
● All decisions about scoring, gameplay, and timing made by the
coordinators and judges are final.
● All the decisions taken by the judges or the volunteers will be
considered and no argument will be allowed
● Teams failing to abide by the rules will lead to disqualification.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Water rockets can have multiple stages. Parachute, gliding and


other mechanical launching mechanisms are allowed. Booster
mechanisms can be used.
● Use of Electronic components and other chemical components is
restricted.
● No usage of fire or explosives is allowed.
● Launchpads should be brought by the teams only, as they will not
be provided on the event day.
● The volume of the rocket must be less than or equal to 2.5 liters.
● The working fluid must be water.

ROUND DESCRIPTION

● Round 1 - How Far?


o In this round the teams must launch the rockets and try to
obtain the maximum score.
o The score will be calculated using the formula given below:
Round 1 score = (Max horizontal distance covered) * (time of
flight)

● Round 2 - Hit the target


o In this round, the rocket launched should hit an area marked
at a distance of 65m.
o The target area will be in circular shape with three regions.
o Innermost region of diameter 10 m (30 points).
o Middle region of diameter 15m (20 points).
o Outermost region of diameter 20m (10 point).

12) ROBO SUMO

NON-TECHNICAL EVENTS

1) LENSATION

geared for you. All it takes is to explore, blink and click!

GENERAL RULES

● Team Size: 1-2 members


● Judges' and organizers' decisions will be final.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Contestants should bring their own photography kits. 


● Themes will be given on spot. 
● The photograph must be in jpeg or jpg format. 
● Basic editing, including colour enhancement, and cropping of the
photo is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the
authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo. 
● The submission of the photograph should be done within due
time. Failure to do this would lead to disqualification.

JUDGING CRITERIA

● The competition will be judged on the basis of quality, creativity,


and content that the photograph portrays.

2) REEL-IN

To explore the creative side of young minds, TIARA 2K23 brings you ONE
of the most exciting competitions of this year, “REEL-IN”.

Theme: "HOW DO YOU SEE INDIAN AND WESTERN MUSIC? ".

Unleash your creativity and win big in our reel-making competition!

GENERAL RULES

● It is an individual event.
● Any act of indiscipline by participants, calls for cancellation of
registration.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● Record and edit multi-clip videos on the given topic with audio,
effects and creative tools.
● Each participant is allowed to submit only one reel.
● The duration of the reel is to be min of 15 sec and max of 60 sec.
● Event starts at 9.00 am and ends at 9.00 pm on the same day.
● All the participants will be added to the WhatsApp group and the
link to upload the reels will be shared. 
● The reels should be uploaded before 9.00pm after which no
submissions will be considered.
● Any act of indiscipline by participants, calls for cancellation of
registration.
● After the event day further instructions will be shared, to upload
the reels to their own accounts

● On spot or pre-registration can be done.


● Candidates should be present at the venue on time.

respective characters.
● The participant has to make an introduction about their given
personality.
● After the introduction, the participants will be asked questions by
the judges posed as journalists.
● The other participants and the audience are also allowed to
question the participants.

● This is an individual event.

EVENT GUIDELINES

● The theme for the artwork will be announced on the spot at the
start of the competition.
● Participants may refer to internet sources for inspiration only
during the first ten minutes.
● Only lead pencil drawings will be accepted. No coloured artwork
will be allowed.
● Participants must use the drawing sheets provided by the
organizers.
● The time limit for the competition is 90 minutes. Participants must
complete their artwork within this time frame.
● Required art materials must be brought by the participants. Only

Valorant is a tactical-shooting multiplayer game that pits two teams of 5


players in each team. In the main game mode, the teams are assigned
for either attack or defense. The attackers must plant the bomb or
eliminate the opposing team. The defenders must defuse the bomb or
eliminate the opposing team before they can plant the bomb. Players
can choose in-game characters called agents at the start of the game.

o Two participants will be called on the stage simultaneously.
The first participant dances to a song played on the spot
while the other stays still.
o At the signal of the judges, the first participant will stop and
the second participant will immediately begin dancing to
the continuation of the same song.
o The process will be repeated every time the song is changed.
The starting sequence for each song will be performed by
participants 1 and 2 alternately.
o In this way, the song will be changed several times while the
participants dance in an alternating manner.

3) CARNAGE

Robowars is an event wherein manually controlled RC bots battle each


other. It will be savage. It will be treacherous. Clash of Metals with the
alloys grinding red hot. It is a game of style, control, damage and
aggression with the robots’ pit against each other in a deadly combat.

GENERAL RULES

● The participants must carry any valid ID which they will be


required to produce at the time of registration.
● Team size: 3-6 members.
● The event organizers reserve the right to stop the match at any
point of time if they deem that the match is turning out to be
dangerous or if there arises a need for either of the teams to
untangle their wires.
● The contestants are requested to comply with the organizers in
this regard, violation of which will lead to an immediate
disqualification.
● Judges and organizers' decisions shall be final.

ARENA SPECIFICATIONS

● The arena dimension - 12 ft x 12 ft.

BOT SPECIFICATION

● The size of the bot can be 600mm * 600mm * 600mm (l*b*h). The
external device used to control the machine or any external tank is
not included in the size constraint.
● Weight of the robot should not exceed 60 kg (Excluding remote
control and control wires).
● Both wired and wireless bots are allowed.

● If the robot is solely powered by onboard batteries (wireless
robots), its weight would be considered.
● The bot can contain an attack mechanism. Attack mechanism
should be independent of the motion of the bot i.e. it should work
even if the bot is motionless. A separate check of the attack
mechanism will be conducted when the bot is immobile.
● The robot should have a small ground clearance such that the
arena is not damaged at any point of time. The bot which causes
any damage to the arena will be disqualified.
● A robot check may be performed at any time during the event
based on the discretion of the judges.

BATTERY AND POWER SUPPLY

● Both on and off board power supplies are allowed. Batteries must
be sealed, immobilized-electrolyte types (such as gel cells, lithium,
NiCad, NiMH, or dry cells).
● The voltage between any two terminals in the robot should not
exceed 36V. There is no restriction on the power consumption of
the bot.
● Use of an IC engine in any form is not allowed.
● If the robot is wired then the wire should remain slack under all
circumstances during the competition. The length of the wire
between controlling device & the power supply and between
machine & controlling device should be at least 5 meters.

WEAPON SYSTEM

● Robots can have any kind of magnetic weapons, cutters, flippers,


saws, lifting devices, spinning hammers etc. as weapons with
following exceptions and limitations:
o Liquid projectiles.
o Any kind of inflammable liquid.

o Flame-based weapons.
o Electro-Magnetic Pulse.
o Any kind of explosive or intentionally ignited solid or
potentially ignitable solid.
o Nets, tape, glue, or any other entanglement device or
adhesives.
o High power magnets or electromagnets.
o Radio jamming, tazers, tesla coils, or any other high-voltage
device.
o Un-tethered projectiles.
● Any bot or Spinning weapons should not cause damage to the
arena intentionally. Violation of this rule will lead to immediate
disqualification.

CONTEST RULES

● The competition will be played on a knock-out basis.


● The bot will be inspected for safety before the event begins. If
found to be unsafe for the participants' spectators, it will be
discarded.
● A bot will be declared immobile(out) if it cannot exhibit linear
motion of at least one inch within 10 seconds. A bot with one side
of its drive train disabled will not be counted out if it can
demonstrate some degree of controlled movement.
● Teams that are not ready when called for battle will be considered
to have declared a walkover, and will receive no points.
● The bot cannot be split into two sub-units. Two distinct parts
connected by a flexible cable will be considered separate units.
● The teams should make sure their wires are slack and all the wires
coming out of the robot need to be tangled together with
insulator material.

● The wires coming out of the robot should be placed in such a way
that it should be safe from any attacks on the bot and the attack
mechanisms provided by the organizers. The organizers will not be
held responsible in case of any accidents to the bot because of the
attack mechanism provided.
● Damaging the arena will lead to immediate disqualification.
● Lego kits, readymade kits, car bases and development boards are
not permitted. Readymade gear boxes are permitted.
● Technical timeout of 2 minutes will be given. Exceeding this time
will lead to deduction of points.
● The organizers reserve the right to change any or all of the above
rules or add any rules as they deem fit.
● Violation of any of the above rules will lead to disqualification.
● Judges' decisions shall be treated as final and binding on all.

● The maximum duration of each battle would be specified by the


coordinators on the day of the event.
● Any time allotted to you will be strictly enforced and no extra time

● A robot that is deemed unsafe by the judges after the match has
begun will be disqualified.
● In case of immobility of any of the bots, both the bots will start
again from their start points.
● Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified
from the competition and the opponent robot will be declared the

Drones race is a fast-paced game in which you control a drone and


attempt to reach the finish line as quickly as possible. The more points
you score, the faster you are, and the higher your score, the more
difficult the track becomes. If you're looking to be the first to pilot, get
there early!

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The challenge is to build a drone within the specified dimensions that


are aerodynamically stable to achieve a successful flight.

EVENT FORMAT

● First round will be an obstacle course.


● Second round will be announced on the event spot.

COMPETITION RULES

Any Drone enthusiast is open to participate.

● An individual may participate or construct a team of a minimum of


1 and a maximum of 5 members. There are no specific
requirements for the team or the team members.
● There are no multiple entries for a single bot.
● Ground touch and Obstacle touch are counted as foul, and
negative points/timing will be allocated according to obstacle
difficulty level.
