Review: Begin the lesson by reviewing the concept of functional areas of management. Ask
students to recall what they have learned in previous lessons about the different functional areas,
such as marketing, finance, operations, and human., etc.
Subject Matter:
Topic: The nature and role in the firm of the different functional areas of management.

Motivation:
To engage students and create interest in the topic, show a short video or present a case study that
highlights the importance of functional areas of management in a real-life business scenario. Discuss the
challenges faced by the different functional areas and how they contribute to the overall success of a firm.
Activity:
Divide the students into small groups and assign each group a specific functional area of management
(marketing, finance, operations, or human resources). Instruct each group to prepare a short presentation
or workshop that explains the nature and role of their assigned functional area in a firm. Provide the
following guidelines for their presentations:
Give the groups enough time to prepare their presentations. Once they are ready, allow each group to
present their findings to the class. Encourage active participation and discussion during the presentations.
Analysis:
After the presentations, facilitate a class discussion to analyze the different functional areas of
management. Ask students to compare and contrast the roles and responsibilities of each functional area.
Encourage critical thinking and explore the interdependence of the functional areas within a firm.
Abstraction:
Guide the students in identifying common themes or principles that apply to all functional areas of
