I am going to England for the semester, and my
cellphone won’t work there what can I do!
If you have access to WIFI you can use the Whatsapp
How does it work?
Who uses Whatsapp?Everyone!!
The Whatsapp is a app you use on your devices to text,
call, video chat , or send documents for free with an
individual or a group.
What is the catch?WELL?!?!
You download the Whatsapp to your device, and open
use wherever the is a wifi connection, this mean anyone
can use it, all over the world.
Privacy or free and convenient ?
Over 1 billon users in 180 countries use the app.
Whatsapp has a buisness app also perfect for small
buisness to showcase their buisness and connect with
customers.
I chose to download the app and now I am able to keep
in touch with all of my friends and share my experiences
with my family, because I love them so much!
Page 6
With the Whatsup app you can only communicate with
others with app. You can not call 911. Even though they
say your information is encripted that is misleading.
Also there are issues because it is owned by Facebook,
there is potential to share your data.
So with anything, you have weigh whats important to
you and educate yourself before downloading any app.
You can download the Whatsapp by visiting
Whatsapp.com/dl with your devices, including PC or
Mac.

Heuristic Evaluation
Heuristic Evaluation: TELEGRAM
1. Visibility of system status
One Telegram has its own creative methods to show the
users what they are doing on the app. For instance:

 There is a Loading icon on video, images, Gifs,

music, and documents if they are still loading.
 The next unread messages profile will appear by
pulling up the end of each chat or channel.
 Green tick and double green tick show if your
message is sent or read by someone else.
 If you want to delete a chat you will get 2 options in
Red to grab your attention and find out how you
want to delete that message, for yourself or for
everyone in that chat?

Page 29
Heuristic Violated: No

2.User control and freedom

To give users the power of controlling results, Telegram
takes advantage of gestures:

 Dragging a slider on a voice/video message’s

timeline will take you to the exact moment that you
want to listen/watch to
 Dragging a chat to the left or right will show some
features such as archive, delete, mute,…

3. Flexibility and efficiency of use

You always know how to use a placeholder in Telegram.
To type a message, add a sticker, attach a file, send a gif,

4 users recognize, diagnose, and recover
from errors
Telegram sets clear boundaries to help users to
understand the behaviour of the app.

 You can’t type in channels since they don’t have

any placeholders.
 The loaded part of a voice message is blue and the
remaining is gray.

5. Help and documentation

Telegram considered 3 sections for helping users and
their probable questions.

 1. Ask a question
 2. Telegram FAQ
 3. Telegram Features which leads you to
“Telegram Tips” channels to gain more
information about features on Telegram.

6.Consistency and standards

With every update on Telegram, you will be faced with
new features. Honestly, it seems sometimes confusing at
first to learn how should we do with all these features,
but Telegram is attempting to simplify the whole
remembering process by a few easy steps, like:

 Establish clear instructions for each update or

new feature that will appear in a separate chat
right after you update it.

Page 35
 Having clear instructions for everything you want
to do as a first time experience on Telegram.

Page 36
Heuristic Violated: No
7. Error Prevention
We all have the experience of making a mistake on a
website or app, but those experiences were not the
same. Sometimes they made us frustrated and
sometimes even eager to continue exploration.
Page 37
Telegram design will guide you to complete a task and
also from an upper perspective, it tries to reduce the
chance of making possible mistakes:

 You will receive a notification like “failed to send”

if something goes wrong in the sending process or
in case of an internet outage while sending a file.
 If you accidentally remove or archive a chat,
Telegram will give you 5 seconds to finalize your
decision.

Page 38

8. between system and the real world

Page 39
Telegram provides optional end-to-end encrypted chats.
Cloud chats and groups are encrypted between the app
and the server, so that ISPs and other third-parties on
the network can’t access data. The system should speak
the users’ language, with words, phrases, and concepts
familiar to the user, rather than system-oriented terms.
Follow real-world conventions, making information
appear in a natural and logical order.
Heuristic Violated: Yes

9.. Recognition rather than recall

Although messaging apps including Telegram still have
a long way to go to meet the needs of users who live
with physical issues, they took noticeable steps on their
design, including:

 Launching the Desktop version to make Telegram

more Operable.
 Providing night mode on both app and Desktop
design to reduce eye fatigue.
 Adjusting text size to help users with visual
impairments.

Page 41
10 . Aesthetic and minimalist design

Dialogues should not contain information which is

irrelevant or rarely needed. Every extra unit of
information in a dialogue competes with the relevant
units of Information and diminishes their relative
visibility.
Minimalistic of Telegram theme expressing your vision
of how Telegram should look. These themes will allow
you to enjoy the app again as for the first time.It is
worth noting that in this theme there are not only black
and white colors, it is a very beautiful theme with a lot
of variety. Because of this, it is necessary to explore
more comprehensive problems to better explore the
problems that occur in telegram application users. The
usability heuristic level needs to be known to explain its
effectiveness in telegram applications for users
