VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) is an initiative of


Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with National
Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an
institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of
India and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM),
an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture,
Government of India. VVM is a national program for
popularizing science among school students of standard
VI to XI, conceptualised to identify bright minds with a
scientific aptitude from the student community.

Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) is a national movement for the propagation and popularization
of Science and Technology among students and masses. VIBHA promotes scientific
contributions made by India from ancient to present time. At present we are the
largest scientific organization with the longest chain of state units and networking
institutions across the country.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH & TRAINING


National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) is an organisation
set up by the Government of India in the year 1961 to assist and advise the central
and state governments on academic matters related to school education. The
major objectives of NCERT and its constituent units are to: undertake, promote and
coordinate research in areas related to school education; prepare and publish model
textbooks, supplementary material, newsletters, journals and develop educational kits,
multimedia digital materials, etc.

NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SCIENCE MUSEUMS


National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous organisation under
the Ministry of Culture, Government of India was formed on April 4, 1978. Today, it
administers 26 Science Centres/Museums spread all over India. Science City, Kolkata,
Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata, Nehru Science Centre,
Mumbai, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), Bangalore and
National Science Centre, Delhi are National level centres of NCSM. Major objective
of the NCSM is to portray the growth of science and technology among masses along with
collecting, restoring and preserving important historical objects, which represent landmarks in the
development of science, technology and industry.
