Materials
Abbreviations (US):
Bobbles
The bobbles in the corn can be done with either bobble stitches (the corn to the left in the picture) or puff
stitches (the corn to the right).
The puff stitches will make for a smaller corn with a soft expression. The bobble stitches makes for a bigger
and more defined corn. Please note that the size of the leaf depends on the choice of puff- or bobble
stitches.
Puff Stitch: In the same st: *yarn over, insert hook in stitch, and pull the yarn through* 4 times (9 loops on
hook), yarn over and pull through all loops.
Bobble Stitch: In the same st: *yarn over, insert hook in stitch, and pull the yarn through, then yarn over
and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook* 4 times (5 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all
loops.
The corncob
All rows until and including row 30 are finished with a sl st in the first st, turn, chain one and crochet back
in the opposite direction.
1. 6 sc in a mr (6)
2. *1 inc* x6 (12)
3. *1 bobble, 1 sc* x6 (12)
4. *2 sc, 1 inc* x4 (16)
5. *1 bobble, 1 sc* x8 (16)
6. *3 sc, 1 inc* x4 (20).
7. *1 bobble, 1 sc* x10 (20)
8. *4 sc, 1 inc* x4 (24)
9. * 1 bobble, 1 sc*x12 (24)
10. *1 sc in each st* (24)
11. *1 bobble, 1 sc* x12 (24)
12-27: repeat the 10th and 11th rows 8 times until you have 13 rows with bobbles in total.
Now go on to crochet in a spiral after row 30. You do no longer have to chain one.
Cut yarn, sew the hole together and fasten the end.
Stalk
1. 6 sc in a mr (6)
2. *1 inc* x6 (12)
3. *1 sc, 1 inc* x6 (18)
4. In the back loop only: 1 sc in each st (18)
Cut yarn and make sure to leave a tail for sewing the stalk onto the corncob.
The leaf
4-14: Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have 14 rows in total. You finish with a repetition of row 2 (33) ((37))
17-27, repeat rows 15 and 16 until you have 20 (24) st on the row. You finish with a repetition of row 15
Turn with a chain one as you have done so far. Now crochet a sc-edge all the way around the leaf. Make 3
sc in each of the corners. Finish in the corner where you started, cut yarn and make sure to leave a long tail
for sewing the leaf onto the stalk.
Finishing
Put a bit of filling into the stalk and sew it onto the corncob. Finish with a few stitches from the bottom of
the stalk and up in the corncob to keep in shape. Fasten the end.
Sew the bottom of the leaf onto the stalk all the way around. Make sure the leaf just reaches all the way
around. Fasten the ends.
