Materials Needed
Scissors…”Red Heart” worsted weight yarn in orange and grey
Shampoo and Conditioner…”Red Heart” comfort knitting worsted yarn in cream, black fabric paint,
two 3” pieces of pipe cleaner, 2 ½” circle of cardboard…2 pieces
Hair Gel Tubes…”Red Heart” comfort knitting worsted yarn in purple and cream, scrap of blue yarn,
white fabric paint
Hair Paste Tub...”Red Heart” comfort knitting worsted yarn in cream and tan, 2 ½” circle of cardboard,
black fabric paint
Velcro Rollers…”Red Heart” worsted weight yarn in pink, pink eyelash yarn
Hair Brush……”Red Heart” medium worsted yarn in burgundy, grey and cream, light weight cardboard
(I used a cereal box), tape
Comb…”Red Heart” medium worsted yarn in burgundy, one 12” pipe cleaner
Curling Iron… …”Red Heart” comfort knitting worsted yarn in black, “Lion Brand” silver lame metallic
yarn, scrap of grey yarn, empty toilet paper roll (or lightweight cardboard), white fabric paint
Size 4mm crochet hook
Stitch marker, I use a scrap of contrasting yarn
Fiberfill stuffing
Notes
Finished scissors are approx. 4” x 7”, Shampoo and Conditioner Bottles are 9” high x 3” across, Hair Gel
Tubes are 3” x 7”, Hair Paste Tub is 2 ½” high x 3 ¼” across, rollers are 1 ¼”x 3”and 1 ¾” x 3 ½”, the
Hairbrush is 3” x 9”, Comb is 9”, and the Curling Iron is 12” plus 16” of electrical cord.
A portion of this pattern is crochet in continuous spirals where the rounds are not joined. It will be stated
if rounds are to be joined. When working in continuous rounds, place stitch marker at the beginning of
each round.
30. Ch 1, turn, 15sc into the center of the circle. See photo above (right).
31. Ch 1, turn, 15sc into the center of the circle, working overtop of the previous round. Bind off leaving a
10” tail of yarn.
32. Use needle on tail of yarn to sew stitches from round 28 together, attach the first chain from round 30
and 31. See photos next page.
Sew stitches from row 28 together. Attach ch 1 from round 30 and 31.
Shampoo and Conditioner cream and black yarn pipe cleaner cardboard circles
1. Ch 2, work 6sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch =12sc.
3. Work (1sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
4. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
5. Work (3sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =30sc.
6. Work (4sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =36sc.
7. Work 36sc in back loops.
8 - 24. Work 36sc around.
25. Work (4sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =30sc.
26. Work 30sc around. Place 2 ½” circle of cardboard in the bottom and stuff. Continue to stuff as you go.
27. Work (3sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =24sc.
28. Work 24sc around.
29. Work (2sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =18sc.
30. Work 18sc around.
31. Work (sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =12sc.
32. Work 12sc around.
33. Change to black yarn and work 12sc around in back loops.
34 – 37. Work 12sc around. Bind off on last round leaving an 8” tail of yarn. Stuff with fiberfill.
38. Attach white yarn to any remaining loop of round 7 and work ss in each loop around, ss to join and
bind off. See photo.
39. For the spout…Use black yarn to ch12, starting in second ch from hook, work 11sc.
40. Ch 1, turn, 11sc. Bind off leaving an 8” tail of yarn. Lay 3” piece of pipe cleaner along piece and use
needle on tail of yarn to sew the long edges together with the pipe cleaner inside. See photo above.
Place spout piece inside top of bottle and use needle left on tail of yarn from bottle to gather edge
closed and securing spout in your stitches.
41. Add words to the sides of the bottle with fabric paint.
33. Attach white yarn to any remaining loop from round 5 and work ss (loosely) in each loop around. Ss
to join and bind off.
34. Repeat step 33 on round 7.
Hair Gel Tube (open tube) purple, cream and blue yarn
1. With cream yarn… Ch 2, work 6sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch =12sc.
3. Work (1sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
4. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
5. Work 24sc in back loops.
6. Work ss in front loops. Bind off leaving a 5” tail of yarn.
7. With cream yarn… Ch 2, work 6sc in second ch from hook.
8. Work 2sc in each stitch =12sc.
9. Work (1sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
10. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
11. Work 24sc in back loops.
12. Change to purple yarn and work 24sc in back loops.
13. Stop now and make the blue gel to add to the top of the tube. It is easier to add now than when the
tube is finished. With blue yarn…Ch 18, starting in second ch from hook, sc 17. Bind off and sew to
the center of the tube.
14 - 30. Work 24sc around.
31. Work (5sc, 2sc in next stitch) x4 =28sc.
32 – 38. Work 28sc around. Stuff lightly.
39. Press edges together and sc across catching one loop only from both edges, and working 2sc in the first
and last stitches. Bind off.
40. Use needle on tail of yarn left on lid (round 6) to sew lid on.
41. Use white fabric paint to add words to the tubes.
Velcro Rollers use pink worsted weight and pink eyelash yarn together make as many as you like
1. Ch 12, ss to join and make a circle.
2. Work in continuous rounds on these 12 stitches until the piece measures 3”. Bind off.
3. For the larger roller…Ch18, ss to join and make a circle.
4. Work in continuous rounds on these 18 stitches until the piece measures 3 ½”. Bind off.
Hairbrush grey, cream and burgundy yarn
1. With burgundy yarn…Ch 2, work 6 sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch around =12sc.
3. Work (sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =18sc.
4 &5. Work 18sc around.
6. Work (2sc, 2sc in next stitch) x6 =24sc.
7 -20. Work 24sc around.
21. Work (sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =18sc.
22. Work (sc, sc next 2 together) x6 =12sc.
23 – 41. Work 12sc around, ss and bind off leaving a 5” tail.
24. Work 19sc along opposite side of chain made in step 20. Your piece should look like this now. See
photo below.
25 & 26. Ch 1, turn, 19sc. Bind off on last row leaving a 15” tail of yarn.
27. Fold a 12” pipe cleaner in half and lay it along row 24, pushing ends into stitches on handle. See
photo, next page.
28. Fold row 26 over and use needle on tail of yarn to sew in place. See photo.
1. For the blade of the curling iron…with black yarn…Ch 2, work 5sc in second ch from hook.
2. Work 2sc in each stitch =10sc.
3 -5. Work 10sc.
6. Change to silver yarn…work 10sc.
7-10. Work 10sc.
11. Work (sc, 2sc in next stitch) x5 =15sc. Work in continuous rounds on these 15 stitches until piece
measures 5 “ from end to end. Cut a piece of lightweight cardboard approx. 3 ¼” x 1”. Trim to fit.
Bend a slight curve in the cardboard. I used a toilet paper roll, it had a curve already built into it.
12. Work sc, (sc next 2 together) x7. Bind off leaving a 5” tail of yarn. Use needle on tail of yarn to gather
remaining stitches closed. See photo (left) next page.
13. Use silver yarn on needle to sew the blade to the base of the curling iron. See photo (right) next page.
14. To make the stand…Using a double thickness of silver yarn Ch 30, starting in second ch from hook,
work 29sc. Bind off. Sew each end to side of the curling iron. See photo for placement. Add “on
button “ with white fabric paint.
