cedures for correcting problems that have developed in the field, and for other appropriate reasons. Each Bul-
letin contains a statement indicating the applicability to specific propellers, and whether the instructions are
necessary and required (mandatory) or recommended (optional). Usually the Bulletin will specify that accomplish-
ment must be completed by specific hours of propeller operation, or during overhaul. Bulletins that have an
"overhaul" compliance will be obsoleted after the material has been added to the Service Manual. Bulletins with
specific hours of service for compliance, usually prior to overhaul, will be added to the Service Manual but the
Bulletin will not be obsoleted.
Service Letters are issued primarily to provide information concerning replacement policies; parts availability;
pricing of operations required by Service Bulletins and for parts; answers to questions from the field; im-
proper operation of propellers; explanation of identification systems for hubs, blades and propellers; explana-
tion of relation between Service Bulletins and FAA Airworthiness-Directives. Service Letters may also be
issued for minor modifications to be performed in the field and for recommended action at overhaul. When the
material has been added to the Service Manual the Service Letter(s) become obsolete.
All Service Bulletins and Letters that have been incorporated in this Service Manual are a part of the manual
and must be followed. Future Bulletins will be included in revisions of this manual.

The following list of Service Bulletins and Service Letters supplement or replace information contained in this
manual and are to be reviewed prior to servicing or overhaul of a propeller assembly.
Service Bulletins are issued to advise of propeller design changes that must be incorporated, to provide proce-
dures for correction of problems that have developed in the field, and for other appropriate reasons.
Service Letters are issued for minor modifications to be performed in the field and for recommended action at
overhaul.

When the removal or treatment of defects on a tip
necessitates shortening of one blade, shorten the
opposite blade likewise. A reduction in blade diameter
will require that the section angle (shown in tables
of Section IV) be increased to yield a model comparable
to the original. If the diameter is reduced, increase
the section angle by an amount dependent on the
diameter reduction as shown in Table 2-1. The
allowable diameter reduction with required pitch in-
crease (which is necessitated by repair) will not
require the blade model designation to change.
