Introduction:
The teacher says:
From time to time, we communicate to express our thoughts and emotions. As
we read, write, listen and speak, we are getting into the world of connections
with one another. We are reaching each other as we are able to attain
relationships and understanding.

Preliminary Activity:

The students will be grouped into five. Each group has to create at least three
scenes depicting communication ( telephone conversation, news casting, panel
discussion etc.) which will be documented through a photoshoot. The photos taken
will be flashed on screen via LCD projector.

Take a look at the photos. Have you found any art portrayed? What have you
noticed? Feel free to scrutinize and discuss them with your classmates.

Activity:
The teacher says:
The students will prepare a presentation ( telephone conversation, news casting,
panel discussion etc.) of different communication scenarios about the different
native delicacies in Quezon province. The same groupings in the previous
activity will be followed. It will be presented in class for 2-3 minutes.

Abstraction:
The teacher will discuss the different elements of communication. Furthermore,
he/she will explain two forms of communication ( verbal and non-verbal).

Communication can be both verbal and nonverbal. The phrase verbal


communication refers to any communication that uses words to convey
meaning. Speaking and writing are both forms of verbal communication.
Nonverbal communication takes place without the use of words. It
involves sending messages through body language, gestures, facial expressions,
tone of voice, and other indicators of meaning that don't involve the use of
spoken or written language. In other words, verbal communication refers to what
you say and nonverbal is how you say it. In this encounter, we will concentrate
on verbal and non verbal communication between / among humans in either
spoken or written form.

These elements are the following:

Verbal Communication and Nonverbal Communication

Verbal Communication refers to an interaction in which words are used to


relay a message. Consider the following when engaging in this type of
communication.

3. Clarity
4. Ethics
5. Vividness
Nonverbal communication refers to an interaction where behavior is used
to convey and represent meanings. Examples of nonverbal communication are
stares, smiles, tone of voice, movements, manners of walking, standing and
sitting, appearance, style of attire, attitude towards time and space, personality,
gestures, and others.

Students will be asked to deliver different greetings and expressions of other
countries.
Examples: Konichiwa, Kumusta, Ni hao, Bonjour, Namaste, Merci, Aloha, Ola,
Gracias…etc.

The students will be grouped into five. Each has to select a country and prepare

Beginning and sustaining an effective and ideal conversation is indeed a part of
a successful communication process. Thus, the ones involved in the communicative
discourse must be skillful on how they will establish spontaneity and continuity of the
conversation. In this regard, some techniques and strategies can be used to have a
meaningful and sensible exchange of ideas.

Preliminary Activity:
The class will be divided into two groups. They will be asked to create a story
about a certain topic wherein all members of the group shall contribute in the
development of the story by just constructing one sentence to be connected to

with his constructed sentence and the rest shall follow. This will be presented
orally in class. Consider the two topics in creating the story.
