Good afternoon teacher, I’m Tien. today I’m very delight to talk about the
responsibilities and qualifications of a merchandiser
As you know, Garment merchandiser is like a bridge between the buyer and the
factory. Firstly, the qualification is also an important factor in becoming a
successful merchandiser. They often have a bachelor’s degree at universities or
colleges such as Ha Noi University of Industry,,,. In addition, a degree in material
and pattern making are also needed.
Secondly, a merchandiser is responsible for making the product on time. A
merchandiser also has to communicate not only with the buyers but also with the
others such as suppliers, nominated factory owners and fabric manufacturers.
Every day, they have to do a lot of work, especially jobs like sourcing trims and
fabric which is required to finish the product, preparing documentation and finally
shipping. Thẻ first work of the merchandiser is obtaining tech pack from buyer and
they have to work with costing and sampling department. About the costing
department, merchandisers will work with them to analyze fabric consumption
from CAD, analyze cost of trims and fabric and obtain general sewing data from
IED.

Good affternoon teachers. My name is Thuy tien. Today, I’m pleased to talk about
the skills and qualifications which are important to become a successful fashion
designer . Nowaday, there are many famous and successful fashion designers.
Their name and reputations are well known around the world. So, I think there are
a lot of important skills and qualifications to become a successful designer.
First of all, skills are extremely necessary. They need to have some skills such as
communication skills, computer skills, quick decision – making skills and time
management skills. Teamwork is an essential skill because Fashion designers often
work in teams throughout the design process and therefore must be able to
communicate with their team members. They must be able to use computer – aided
design programs and be familiar with graphics editing software.
Card 2: fashion design

about the Responsibility and qualifications which are important to become a
successful fashion designer .
Nowaday, there are many famous and successful fashion designers. Their name is
well known all over the world. So, I will talk about responsibilities and the
required qualifications and qualities to become a fashion designer.
First of all, a fashion designer is responsible for sketching. It’s extremely
necessary. They need to sketch their ideas on paper or on software and create
marketable designed from those ideas. Besides, Good designers will grasp fashion
trends and they can create a new fashion trend. In addition, they are in charge of
meeting the vendors as well.
Secondly, qualifications are also an important factor to become a successful
fashion designer. They often have a bachelor’s degree in fashion design or fashion
merchandising. In addition, a degree in marketing or material and trim are also
good things.
Lastly, there are some required qualities for a fashion designer. About artistic
ability, designers must be able to express their vision for the design through
illustration. Next, a fashion designer must have computer skills and proficient in
using graphics editing software. Another important thing is Fashion designers need
to have a good eye for small differences in color and other details that can make a
design successful.
Card 3: Describe working condition in a garment factory (Mô tả điều kiện làm
việc trong xưởng may)
I’m working for Viet Tien company. so Today, I will talk about the working
conditions in our company.
Firstly,we always use main natural light but sometime, artificial light is also
used. We use smart glasses and solar lights to get sunlights because they save
energy. Besides, studies also show that a natural light environment makes working
more effective and good for worker’s health.
Secondly, about the posture, all workers sit in the correct posture, the chairs are not
too high which have backrests and footrests. The leg movement is large enough for
workers.
Thirdly, about the personal working space, we always keep it clean and make sure
workers have enough leg space for easy movement and put the garment materials
and tools too.
Finally, our factory is fully equipped with many small boxes for tools, suppliers
and accessories so workers can take them within easy reach. It is convenient and
saves time for the workers.
That is the working conditions in our garment factory. We hope to bring the best
conditions to the worker and we are very happy if you can have an internship here
in the future.

Nowaday, the textile industry is very developed, many sewing companies have
opened and the working conditions in each company are different. I have just had 5
months of internship in Tinh Loi garment factory and I realize that there are many
particular problems related to the working conditions in that factory.
Firstly, it is backache. This problem has 2 reasons: the worker sit in wrong posture.
And the workers have to work too long and sit in oneplace. This can lead to health
and productivity problems. I suggest that the company should provide fully chair
large enough for worker and the chairs should have the backrest and footrest.
Beside, the company should have short breaks so the worker can relax and do their
exercise.
Secondly, workers spend a lot of time looking for trash bins because the trash bin
is located too far from the place of production and there are no trash bin under the
working table. So, I suggest that they should provide trash bins under the table of
each workerTherefore , it is possible to save time and the worker’s place is always
clean and tiny. .
I hope these problems will be resolved as quick as possible to give workers the
best working conditions which can improve the working efficiency and products'
quality of the factory

Card 5: Describe the steps of running a meeting (Mô tả các bước điều hành

Thomas ís going to run a meeting next week. If I were Thomas, I would run the
meeting as follow.
Firstly, I will welcome the participants of the meeting and introduce myself. I will
say like this: " Good morning and welcome to the meeting today. For thoes who
don't know me. I'm Thomas from Sales Department. Today, we're going to focus
on the order you have made".
Secondly, I will introduce the agenda of the meeting like this: " Please look at the
agenda in front of you. There are 3 items on our agenda and I would like to start
with the first one".
After that, I will start with the 1^st point by saying this: firstly, I would like to
confirm the order's details. You have ordered for 4500 polo shirts model HH 04561
which are made from polyester.
Next, I will continue with the second point that relates to the price of the order. I
could say: Now, I would like to announce the price of the order, we have discussed
in the last meeting that each item will be $12 and if you order at least 5000 iteams
and use bank transfer, my company will give you 5% discount. If the customers
don't approve the price. I will assure the product quality and our brand's reputation.
In case, the customer insist on lowering the price, I will suggest that they should
order at least 5000 items to get 5% discount. Following that we will move to the
third point on the agenda which is about the delivery date. "So you have agreed to
receive the goods on the 25 of October and the good is shipped door-to-door". If
customers want to recerve the goods earlier, I will have to refuse and explain that
our company is working on 4 other big orders and being in rush will negatively
affect the product quality.
After presenting all the content of the meeting, I will say: "Time's running out and
we need to draw things to a close”
Finally, I will conclude all the discussed items in the meeting like this: "Now I will
try to sum up what have been decided in the meeting that relate to the order details,
the price and the delivery date. Thank you for your time. Goodbye I look forward

and welcome to the meeting today. Today, we are going to discuss about the order.
There are 3 points on our agenda. I would like to start with the first one. Firstly, we
provide the order’s detail number 5000. The item is polo shirt with model
TA71199 and the material is polyester. Secondly, the price is $15 per item, if you
purchase at least 6000 item, we can discount 5% for you and all the money will be
transffered via bank. I suggest that you should purchase at least 6000 items to
receive the discount. We assure that the product’s quality is high quality and the
brand’s reputation are also assure. The good will be delivered on October 25 by
door- to-door. If yoyu want to receive the goods earlies, I could say that it is
possible. My company is working on other big orders, should not negatively affect
the product’s quality. Time’s running out and we need to draw things to a close.

Card 6: Give feedback for a sameple grament (Đưa ra phản hồi cho mẫu hàng
may mặc
My name is Thuy Tien and I am from the Design development.
I have received the sample of the shirt order THC 713 from the pattern maker. In
General speaking, the sample looks good and similar to the sketch. However, some
details need to be revised.
Firstly, the color of the pattern is scarlet but the specification is crimsons so the
pattern maker has to work again with the supplier of fabric to order the right.
Secondly, the spec sheet requires a black label with white letters on it, but the
actual one hasn't got a label, and have to add the label as required.
Next, the sample hasn't got leather piping to cover the lapel as required of the spec
sheet so I suggest that you add leather piping to the lapel as required. with the
button, the sample is missing the number of buttons compared to the specification
sheet's requirement of 6 buttons and has to add two more buttons with described
spacing.
Thirdly, The shoulder length should be 20"inches, but the shoulder of the actual
sample is 24" so take the shoulder 4".
Next, the Sleeve length has to take the sleeve up 2" to correct the requirements of
the spec sheet.
Finally, the waist of the sample is 5" smaller than required so take the waist out in
5". I have sent the comment back to the prototype development and hope that they
will revise it soon to send our customer for approval
I’m a designer of MCB company. I have received the actual sample garment and
see that there are one differences between the spec sheet sketch and the actual
sample. The overall sample looks good. However, there are still some details that
do not match the spec sheet requirements.
Firstly, the actual sample does not have the white letters on black label attached 1”
below collar stand.
Secondly, the spec sheet requires that the neck width from highest point of the
shoulder (HPS) to another HPS is 5 5/8” but in actual sample it is 8”. You need to
take it in 2 2/3’’. In the spec sheet, the pocket is on the left of garment with
6’’depth and 4’’width instead of on the right.
Thirdly, the armhole-straight as required in the spec sheet is 8 3/8’’ long but in the
actual sample, the length is 8’’. You need let it out 3/8''. In the spec sheet, the cuff
opening is 4’’ instead of 6’’, so you need to let the cuff opening of the sample in
2’’
Next, the waist in the spec sheet is 15 1/2'' but it's actually 24’’ as I have measured
on the sample, you need to take it in 8 1/2''.
Finally, the bottom opening in the spec sheet is 17'' but it's actually measured 25”,
you need to take it in 8''.
I have given some comments on the prototype of the shirt and also some
suggestions to revise it. I hope that you will soonly revise the sample and give us
back on next day.
Card 7: Talk about a tybe of report in a garment factory (Nói về một loại
phóng sự trong xưởng may)
The delivery performance report is aims to monitor the trend in delivery delays.
The information from this report should be passed to the workers for better
awarenes of upgrading delivery performance The form is used to provide statistics
of the orders which have been successfully delivered. This month, our factory has
been working on 10 orders, but there are 3 orders which did not meet the deadline
of customers. Those are 2 shirt orders- SS123 and HG154.
The first order is SS123 which should be delivery on the first of may. However,
our factory missed this deadline. It was for the reason that the warehouse ran out of
materials. At that time, we had to negotiate with the customers to extend the
deadline for 2 days.
The second one is HG154 including 100 items. As scheduled, this order need to be
delivered on I0 june. On the date of delivery, there was a storm, the weather was so
bad that our shipment didn't deliver the goods on time. The order was dispatched
on 1 day late and wve had to apologize our customer.
In conclusion, this form is necessary to evaluate the delivery performance of our
factory to come up with better solutions for delivery delays in the following
months
7.1: Individual production report
Good afternoon, I'm Thuy Tien. I’m a technical staff. Today, I will talk about
individual production reports. The form number of the repost is 001 and it is
processed by me. On 26 January, worker Nguyen Van A made 2 stages of the T-
shirt model DHA47. He is sewing the collar and sewing the sleeve. Worker A used
machine number 10 to sew the collar. He starts working at 8 p.m and finishes at
11.45 am. In the stage, she has completed 200 products but has 5 products which
are defective. Then, from 1p.m to 5p.m, he worked at the sewing sleeve stage in
machine number 5. During this time, she has finished 100 items and has 5 items
which are defective. About worker Nguyen Van B made 1 stages of the T-shirt
model DHA47. Worker B used machine number 8 to sew the cuff. He starts
working at 8 p.m and finishes at 11.45 am. In the stage, she has completed 300
products but has 10 products which are defective. That’s all about my report
7.2: Delivery performance record
Good afternoon, I'm Thuy Tien. I’m a technical staff.
Today, I will talk about the delivery performance record. The form number of the
record is 004 and it is processed by me. On 15 of January, After discussing with
the customers, we have 2 orders needed to delivery. They are T-shirt model TS25
and Jacket model JK25. Firstly, The orders TS25 was scheduled for delivery on 15
of January but on 18 of January we just delivered the goods. So we delayed
delivered 3 days. The reason is that some workers were sick and had to take time
off to work so the goods did not keep up with the delivery schedule. Secondly, The
order JK25 was scheduled for delivery on 25 January but on 27 January, we just
delivered it. So we delayed delivery 2 days. This situation still occurs due to in a
dequate machine failures for workers so the goods do not keep up with the delivery
schedule. That is all about Delivery performance report.
7.3: Accident record
Good morning. My name is Thuy Tien, I’m a technical staff. Today, I will talk
about accident records. The form number of the record is 005 and it is processed
by me. On the 20th of February, our company had some accidents. Firstly, worker
A in sewing group 1 was injured in her hand. While inserting the needle,because of
forgetting to turn off the power so the machine was still working, she was stabbed
by the needle. I think all workers should pay attention to turn off all equipment
when not working to ensure safety. After that, worker B in the pressing group was
burned on hands. Because he is a new worker so he does not have experience and
due to negligence, he was injured. I suggest that all workers need to focus and
comply with safety rules while working.
7.4: Preventive maintenance record.
Good morning teacher, My name is Thuy Tien, I am a technical staff. Today, I will
talk about preventive maintenance report. The form number of the record is 146
and it is processed by me. On the 20th of January, there was a problem with
machine number 10. At 8 A.M, the machine was stopped working. After that, I
reported this problem, he call the the technical staff to fix this problem. The
machine starts to be maintained at 8.30 A.M and it worked again at 10 a.m. During
maintenance, the downtime of the machine is 1.30 hours. The technical staff said
that the cause of the breakdown is the machine has been used for a long time and it
is not regularly maintained, so the engine oil is dry and the motor cannot rotate.

Good morning teacher. I’m Thuy Tien. I’m a sale department of GARCO. Thank
you for coming in here to learn about our company. As you known, our company,
specialize in textile and garments product. Our company consider one of the most
contributing to the largest textile and garment export turnover. There are 9000
workers are working in our company. We have 18 factories which are locating in
different provinces in Viet Nam. Every year, the number of products are produced
is relatively large with the anually production capicity is 21 million pieces.
GARCO 10 cooperates with many different countries around the world. The us is
the country that our company exported the most with 52%, the next is Europe with
13%, Japan with 10%, HongKong with 7% and remaining 18% are in other
countries and regions. The company’s anual growth rate is quite sustainable. In
2016, the growth rate was 4%, 2017 was 6% and 2018 was 8%. Average growth
rate increases by 2% per year. GARCO 10’s annual turnover is high, contributing
greatly to the country’s expost revenue. In 2016, the revenue was nearly 3 trillion,
2017 was more than 3 trillion and 2018 was 37 trillion. I hope in the future our
company will develop futher!

Good morning teacher, I’m Thuy Tien. Today I will share the preparation for a job
interview. The first thing you have to prepare is formal clothes. You can wear suits
for men and skirts with shirt or dark trousers for women. Avoid wearing short
skirts to look more professional. The second important thing is researching about a
company such as products, service or working enviroment. In addition, you should
research job descriptions such as responsibitities and requirements of the job. Next,
it is direction. It is important to know where you need to go for your job interview
- ahead of time. Don’t be late and give yourself about 30 minutes of extra
time. Finally, you need to be confident, calm and intelligent to solve questions and
situations during the interview. I think some tips can be helpful for you. Good luck
for a job interview!
Card 10: Introduce yourself in a role of a candidate in a job interview (Giới

I am delighted to tell you about myself. My name is Thuy Tien. I studied at Hanoi
University of Industry and my major is Garment Technology and Fashion Design.
My dream is to become a fashionista in the next 5 years and I want to work at a
famous Fashion House in Viet Nam. So, I often spend time researching new
fashion trends. I also found a partime job which can help me get experience for my
future job. On my own strengths, I think I am a creativity and imaginative. In
addition, I can use the design sorfware on computers, and have knowledge of
materials and colors.. That is suitable for a fashionista. However, I still have
weaknesses, such as limited language skills. I will try my best to improve my
English skill. That’s all about my self.! I hope to devote my ability to your
company.!
