A disease is a condition when our body or some of
its parts do not function normally. A person suffering
from a disease becomes sick and weak. Disease
can occur due to many different reasons.

A symptom is an indication of a disease.


COMMUNICABLE AND NON COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

Virus – they cause diseases such as polio,
chickenpox, measles, mumps and common
cold.
►Bacteria – cause diseases such as typhoid,
plague, cholera and tuberculosis.
►Protozoa – cause diseases such as
malaria, and amoebic dysentery.
►Fungi –cause diseases like Athlete's foot,
ringworm etc.
Communicable diseases pass from one person
to another through different ways called modes
of transmission. These are as follows:

► Air
► Infected food and Water
► Direct contact
► Insects (vectors or disease
carriers)
