Superseded Standard Number: UL 60730-2-13A & UL 873
Superseded Standard Name: Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use; Part 2: Particular
Requirements for Humidity Sensing Controls, 1st Edition Dated February 5, 2002 & Temperature-Indicating and
-Regulating Equipment, 12th Edition Dated November 16, 2007
Superseding Standard Number: UL 60730-2-13
Superseding Standard Name: Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use; Part 2: Particular
Requirements for Humidity Sensing Controls, 2nd Edition, Dated July 1, 2014

EFFECTIVE DATE OF NEW/REVISED REQUIREMENTS

Effective Date: No action is required for currently certified products to maintain certification.
This SUN is being presented to assist users of the standard to appreciate the significance of
the changes made to the standard that will apply should the product described be modified
after August 31, 2019.

IMPACT, OVERVIEW, AND ACTION REQUIRED

Impact Statement: A review of all Listing Reports is necessary to determine which products comply with
new/revised requirements and which products will require re-evaluation. NOTE: Effective immediately, this
revised standard will be exclusively used for evaluation of new products unless the Applicant requests in
writing that current requirements be used along with their understanding that their listings will be withdrawn
on Effective Date noted above, unless the product is found to comply with new/revised requirements.
Overview of Changes: UL 60730-2-13A 1st Edition / UL 873 12th Edition are being withdrawn by UL and
replaced by UL 60730-2-13, which is an adoption of the second edition of IEC 60730-2-13.
If the applicable requirements noted in the table are not described in your report(s), these requirements will
need to be confirmed as met and added to your report(s) such as markings, instructions, test results, etc. (as
required).
Client Action Required:
Information – To assist our Engineer with review of your Listing Reports, please submit technical information in
response to the new/revised paragraphs noted in the attached or explain why these new/revised requirements
do not apply to your product (s).

Current Listings Not Active? – Please immediately identify any current Listing Reports or products that are no
longer active and should be removed from our records. We will do this at no charge as long as Intertek is
notified in writing prior to the review of your reports.

subjected to the tests of this subclause, as the results of these tests are
influenced by the incorporation of the humidity sensing control into the
equipment and the use of measures to control emissions used therein. They
may, however, be carried out under declared conditions if so requested by the
manufacturer.
H.26 Info Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements – immunity
After each test, one or more of the following criteria shall apply, as permitted
H.26.2
in Table H.26.101.
The humidity sensing control is subjected to each of the specified voltage test
cycles three times with 10 s intervals between each test cycle. For a humidity
H.26.5.4.3 sensing control declared under requirement 101 of Table 7.2, each test cycle is
performed three times when the control is in the declared condition and three
times when it is not.
For controls declared under requirement 101 of Table 7.2, three of the tests
are performed when the control is in the declared condition and two are
performed when it is not.
